Taika Waititi to write and direct Thor 4

Yeah, that seems to be the likeliest explanation, which would be a terrible shame. I really want to see a whole film with Thor hangin' with the Guardians.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind a small (say Doctor Strange in Ragnarok) size role for the Guardians in Love and Thunder, but I wouldn't want them to take away or overshadow Natalie Portman or Tessa Thompson in terms of the spotlight or narrative.

As for Thor in Guardians of the Galaxy volume 3, James Gunn has said that he will be wrapping up everybody's storylines and that it will be an emotional script, so as long as Thor doesn't feel tacked on or intrusive to Gunn's original story then I'm all for it.

I sort of have this "Star Trek" sort of vibe when we see the first promotional photos for the Guardians again. They'll have changed hairstyles and clothing for the new season type vibe.

Maybe Gamora adapts a bob type of hairstyle like Natasha in Winter Soldier

Quill grows a mullet

Maybe we'll see the Guardians in the "teaser" of Love and Thunder and Thor leaves them to go on with his story.

If you had Quill then he could talk with Thor about dealing with a sick love one. His Mom died of a tumor and if they go the cancer route this could be be a bonding moment for Thor and Quill

She’s not above criticism (no one is). It’s just that your particular set of criticisms is laughable.

How? Perhaps they are, but a lot of us came into the game late. If you provided more details to back up the claim you'd be closer to winning this game since "goalposts" was used as a descriptor...

All the rebuttals between the initial post to which I responded and my response (along with several that follow my post) provide ample details--there's really little need to repost them again.

One of my favorite scenes of Endgame was Thor joining the Guardians at the end. It got me really excited for what's next for both Thor and the Guardians. We were sold the idea this is where they would be going next so I will be sorely disappointed if we don't get a more meatier film with these characters together.

I have to admit I am surprised Portman came back for this. Granted, it’s a juicy lead role, but I am surprised after the character was all but written out largely because she wasn’t interested.
But hey ho.
Ride of the valkyries.

Jane was written out because Natalie was unhappy with how Marvel Studios treated Patty Jenkins.

Just make it Thor FaceTiming with Groot and treating it like they’re having an incredibly deep and thoughtful conversation entirely in Groot. Just have Rocket tear up because of the insight.
