I would say it's deliberately not telling someone something they should/need to/deserve to know. Which is what he admitted to in Civil War.

ETA: It doesn't really matter either way, though, unless you honestly believe Steve never talked to Tony about Barnes/Winter Soldier at any point between TWS and Civil War, even though they worked together throughout AOU during which time Steve openly had Falcon running side missions out of Avengers HQ specifically to find Bucky.

I agree with the above. That scene is IMO a bit over the top (but could lead to interesting "I took an arrow to the knee" memes ;)).

I think the Funeral scene was a much better way to show everyone grieving at the loss. YMMV.

Often I see these deleted scenes and wonder why they were cut. These scenes from Endgame, while interesting, show that the Russos made some good choices in the editing room.

I liked the "suckiest army in the galaxy" scene and wish that it had been left in, but agree that it wasn't necessary. The only thing from the "take a knee" scene that should have been left in was the shot establishing 2014 Gamora was still alive and left the scene.

Here are all six deleted scenes included on the home release. None of them were necessary but all of them are fun. I like the scene with Rhodey and Steve. Like the Chitauri scene, it's poking fun at a plothole in a previous movie. In this case why did Steve have to crash the plane in CA:TFA? Why couldn't he have just jumped out?

I liked the scene with Rhodey bugging Cap about his noble sacrifice into the Arctic Ocean.

I'm glad they cut out the scene with Thor pissing over the side. I loved most of the jokes at his expense but that would've been too far.

With Endgame coming out on Blu-ray in 2 weeks (about 3 & 1/2 months after it was released in Theaters) it made me realize if I had grown up as a kid today I probably never would have gotten taken to the movie theater by my parents.

When I was a kid pretty much every movie I saw was at a 'second-run' movie theater. When I was really young in the early 80s it was $1, then $1.50 and I think by the time it closed in the early 90s it was $2.50.

There's no more of them near by, so it's just regular movie theaters. The cost of 3 tickets if it was to be my brother, me, and my Mom would be close to $40. You can get the Blu-Ray for about 1/2 that price and it's 3.5 months after the movie came out (I saw Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade the day it 'opened' at the second-run theater which was 6 months after it actually opened).

Damn...that's really depressing. And you're right that this is probably happening for a lot of people nowadays.

That's a shame. In my college years, I lived at the second run and art house cinemas (figuratively speaking).

I've never understood the people who claim that's a plot hole. What is jumping out supposed to accomplish? He'd still be just as frozen, only now maybe a few dozen miles in another direction or so.

The way I look at it: Steve bless him, just isn't all that bright when it comes to anything mechanical, electrical or fondue related so it didn't occur to him to jam the flight controls in a dive and bail. I mean sure, he probably would have still frozen (and less likely to be found with the wreck in the future) but there may have been a chance he makes it, or gets found sooner.

I do like Rocket's line about the Chitauri. It makes their defeat a bit more credible and fits in with all of Thanos's other forces being mostly mindless berserkers.

He's just going to walk home from the arctic? He'd be unconcious from the cold long before a search party got anywhere near him. And a single human without a big wrecked plane nearby would more likely never be found at all than be found sooner.

The only thing that would make sense is if he could bail with a portable radio, but by the time he searches the plane to find one, it's already crashed.

Now that you mention it, he probably could have walked to Canada!

Point being though is that if he *had* jumped, then he wouldn't be Steve Rogers. Going for the sacrifice movie is 100% his style. I mean remember the grenade? He could have lobbed that thing straight up and given everyone and him a much better chance of survival, but that's just not how Steve thinks.

That would have made the opening scene of Civil War an interesting callback.

I would have enjoyed if they kept the Cap/Rhodey scene and the scene with Rocket talking about the Chitari army myself.

Yeah, those were the best two.
The first one with Tony and Pepper was kind of a nice little look at his life with her and their daughter post-Snap, but I can see why it was cut since it didn't really add much to the story.

Sure Steve could have jammed something in the controls, but even if he had a workable escape plan, could he really risk the controls coming loose after he jumped and the autopilot resuming it's course?

I think the main improvement from cutting that scene is that the reveal that they have a kid is made when she actually appears, not when she's mentioned off-hand. It's the old "show don't tell" rule of film-making.

Yeah, that's not a plot hole, but an altered version the comics' (retconned) story, so it was crucial to his eventual (and all-important) "man out of time" / depression character traits. One way or the other, his dramatic "end" during WW2 had to see him vanish as a result of an aerial disaster.

Like most of you, I have often wondered how Endgame would have been if Tommy Wiseau had been allowed to star and direct.

Someone else did and made this
