He seems to be benefiting from the concept of due process. Not that I like it in this case, mind you, but it does have the tendency to assist those who are actually innocent of being accused such crimes, civil or criminal, I would think. At least, that's the ideal behind it, anyway. :shrug:
 
I don't remember if I've posted this GIF before, but it perfectly sums up my feeling about this whole situation and probably a whole lot of other people's too.

Time honored Team Axanar tactic, used by Peters, RMB, and now sycophant Lane. Despite RMB's "change of heart," least we forget that he was just as much an a'hole as Peters during the Axanar debacle.

Some seem to be giving RMB a pass since he turned his coat, but he's still the same attention seeking blowhard and toxic fan that he ever was.
