1. The old bait and switch
I'm not really sure what this refers to, but I suppose it's luring the Romulans in on the premise that the Enterprise is being commanded by a madman, when in fact it's really all part of a "brilliant" scheme to get the cloaking device.
2. They really do have more relaxed attitude towards sexual harassment in the 23rd century.
The unnamed Romulan commander sexually harasses Spock from the moment she appears on screen. It's like she was waiting for Spock for decades or something. It's absurd.
3. Read a newspaper, write an episode.
Ms. Fontana allegedly based this episode on the
Pueblo Incident. Except that I doubt that the USN/CIA/whoever was hoping that some woman commanding the North Korean military would climb into the pants of the XO of the
Pueblo, enabling the US to steal North Korean technology. Except for that difference, it's exactly the same.
4. No love for this episode?
None whatsoever. It's honestly terrible and, except for The Alternative Factor, probably my least favorite episode of TOS with the usual What If You Removed the Torture Scenes from Plato? caveat. It's basically horrible Spock fanfic. But to be more specific, the clue refers to a current thread title.
5. Phaser Two still hasn't told me why, he always leaves that out!
So funny.

Marsden asked me the other day why I dislike this ep (and I still owe him an explanation), cleverly and amusingly using rephrased Stiles dialogue from Balance of Terror. As for the question above in Henoch's guess, no, I really like Lights of Zetar quite a bit. It's an underrated S3 episode. This episode is one of the most overrated in all of the Star Trek franchise.
6. Read the thread titles!
I did!

(As noted above, there's a current thread called "No Love for the Enterprise Incident?" or similar.)
