Name That STAR TREK Episode...

The Lights went out in Zetar, that night.

1. The old bait and switch

2. They really do have more relaxed attitude towards sexual harassment in the 23rd century.

3. Read a newspaper, write an episode.

4. No love for this episode?

5. Phaser Two still hasn't told me why, he always leaves that out!

6. Read the thread titles!

1. The old bait and switch

I'm not really sure what this refers to, but I suppose it's luring the Romulans in on the premise that the Enterprise is being commanded by a madman, when in fact it's really all part of a "brilliant" scheme to get the cloaking device.

2. They really do have more relaxed attitude towards sexual harassment in the 23rd century.

The unnamed Romulan commander sexually harasses Spock from the moment she appears on screen. It's like she was waiting for Spock for decades or something. It's absurd.

3. Read a newspaper, write an episode.

Ms. Fontana allegedly based this episode on the Pueblo Incident. Except that I doubt that the USN/CIA/whoever was hoping that some woman commanding the North Korean military would climb into the pants of the XO of the Pueblo, enabling the US to steal North Korean technology. Except for that difference, it's exactly the same. :cardie:

4. No love for this episode?

None whatsoever. It's honestly terrible and, except for The Alternative Factor, probably my least favorite episode of TOS with the usual What If You Removed the Torture Scenes from Plato? caveat. It's basically horrible Spock fanfic. But to be more specific, the clue refers to a current thread title.

5. Phaser Two still hasn't told me why, he always leaves that out!

So funny. Marsden asked me the other day why I dislike this ep (and I still owe him an explanation), cleverly and amusingly using rephrased Stiles dialogue from Balance of Terror. As for the question above in Henoch's guess, no, I really like Lights of Zetar quite a bit. It's an underrated S3 episode. This episode is one of the most overrated in all of the Star Trek franchise.

6. Read the thread titles!

I did! :techman: (As noted above, there's a current thread called "No Love for the Enterprise Incident?" or similar.)

New episode.
1. Kirk usually knows everybody. Which is cool; he's a likeable and magnetic person. But in this case, he only knows a few people.

Journey to Babel?
1. The ship is full of 114 delegates. He doesn't even know that the Vulcan ambassador and his human wife is Spock's parents. I'm sure that after two weeks, he'll be friends with all of them, except for maybe the Tellarite ambassador Gav and the Andorian aid Thelev. :vulcan:

WTG, Steven! Got it in one. (P.S., the reference to Kirk's magnetic personality was an unneeded subclue referring to the "magnetic storm".) You're up! :) :techman:
Thanks. I caught on the the magnetic reference too, but only after I posted my guess. After I realized it, I knew my guess was right. It's always nice to have a subclue that makes the answer definite after you have zeroed in on a good guess.

Disclaimer: I'm not saying I will necessarily make a clinching subclue.

Clue #1

If you use your gray matter, you will identify this episode quickly. No, not that one! Multiply by three. Now you have it.

No, not the Man Trap.

Clue # 2

Lot's of threes in this episode. You could even allude to the three primary threes as trio, trinary and triumvirate, respectively in order of appearance.
