She's gotten sassier than the Doctor, too.

I was waiting to hear from you, lol.

Guess she’s more human after all these years.

that was the best thing. I wanted Annika to kind of exert herself as Seven started to get further away from the Borg Life. That didn’t happen and that disease she was afflicted with made me so sad. To see Seven with a human personality and comfortable was amazing. It’s like my long lost Voyager character development dream was finally realized.

In Season 7, at least when on the holodeck dates, she started talking and sounding more human, I guess she kept going more human and never stopped

How do I feel about Seven in the trailer? Fearful. It strikes me at first glance as a cynical ratings ploy and potential writing crutch. That’s no slight to the character or the actress. It’s just too easy to use Seven (and Data) as something to shoehorn in rather than an organic story element. I’m not saying that WILL be the case, but I’m afraid, perhaps because we’ve seen that sort of thing before in the ENT finale. (Edit: and no, I’m not expecting a Riker-esque holo fantasy since I brought up that episode, but there many ways to be just as bad)

As a side note, Seven doesn’t sound at all like Seven anymore. It’s weird to hear her without that air of superiority in her voice.

I was so happy I had a photo op with her last year. I'm planning to get it signed the next time she comes to the convention.

It's been 20 years since Voyager got home. We only saw the first 4 years of her development as a human in Voyager, and as others said she was relaxing and becoming more and more human in the final season.

I'm curious what name she's going by in 2399. We're calling her Seven here, but it's possible she's Annika again.

Seven has been disconnected from the collective for 20 years at this point, she would be a completely different person from the one in voyager.

Crossing everything she doesn't bring Chakotay back with her.

But Janeway, EMH and the rest of the crew are welcome.

I would like to see all of them, including Chakotay, Neelix and Kes.
But that will never happen. :weep:

TBH they wouldn't have the original prop. I'd be more interested in how her character managed to become so perfectly neurotypical and chirpy (so there's some optimism in the new show, which is good!) in personality and even sarcastic to Picard in that clip, maybe the people claiming he has Irumodic Syndrome are correct in their belief? The episode should tell what the teaser understandably won't. Or it will say something with less than four syllables, casual fans are more likely going to be the target demographic, partly because not enough the hardcore fans bought the TNG Blu-Ray sets (it's an indirect correlation at best, but the lack of purchases did show TNG falling out of the same zeitgeist from the early 1990s. If nothing else...) That's not a complaint, just a possibility no better or worse than any other.

Some residual issues CAN cling for life - regardless of how one re-adjusts after such heinous events - and it's not due to a person being weak or anything else. Ask some survivors. Let's see the episode first and what is explained, if anything. But if I were to guess, it's more likely she developed a rapport after meeting one of the other few people who had been through such an experience and they actually hit it off and became close friends, which is plausible. She acts as if she's a close friend, which explains a lot a lot better IMHO. Even in the 24th century where characters on TNG never acted with that much saccharine as the Brady Bunch did to each other to begin with. :D Keeping in mind we've been told this is the same universe as TNG so there are reasonable continuity-driven expectations in place as a result (as well as some creative liberties) and given VOY's detractors and complainers, if it turns out VOY understood Gene's vision for the century better... But, again, what Seven said and how she said it, it goes back to Picard possibly having that syndrome... Again, this is complete speculation and over a teaser, we'll all be seeing the actual episode and that will likely be very different to what little the teaser put out.

As for her presence in general, here's hoping for the best. On her speech, she was supposed to have.that Borg implant that would kill her if she became too human as well, and one could think of it like a "Borg accent" separate from her emotional development. I guess she could have gone through training to get rid of it, but without such effort would have been naturally permanent. Anyway, it ultimately doesn't matter much, except that it so identified her character as unique, it feels on some level like a loss, if that makes any sense. I guess one could say the same about the catsuit, which thankfully is gone for good, and doesn't feel like a loss as much as a never should have been.

Why is the catsuit a never should have been?

If you think about it it's a highly efficient sleek garment no frills and I'm sure seven didn't have hang ups about wearing something that showed her figure.

We know the "real reason" but it kinda makes sense in universe imo

Maybe we will finally find out if she approved of Janeway killing Tuvix before she had joined the crew!:) Jason
