Then why give it a 3rd season? You don't give another season to a show that's not working.
Why was Enterprise given a third season? Surely you don't think the first two seasons of Enterprise "worked" do you?

I'm not seeing it.
My mind reading skills are a bit lacking. So I can't speak to motivations.
They're still pumping out Short Treks in the 23rd.
Worked for TNG.
Not sure of the Math there
Season One was Fuller. Then Harberts and Berg
Season Two was Harberts and Berg and then Kurtzman then Kurtzman and Paradise.
Season Three is Paradise.
So we have
- Fuller (Season 1)
- Harberts and Berg (Season 1 & part of 2)
- Kurtzman/Paradise (Part of Season 2)
- Paradise (Season 3)
- ?????????????
I think there is a Pike one. A Number One/Spock one and four others.True. Though note that they're all Pike/Spock/Number 1 shorts. Well, the Tribble one may just have a cameo by Pike.
Harbert/Berg count as one since they were a team. Fuller might not even count since he was out so fastInitially I was going to say four, but I wasn't sure how I should count co-showrunners Harberts/Berg, so I decided to count each individually, meaning a total of five showrunners have worked on the series to date.
Worked for me. It's my third favorite Trek. Why was Enterprise given a third season? Surely you don't think the first two seasons of Enterprise "worked" do you?
It's wishful thinking
But wanting something to be true isn't going to make it true
You still have to prove DISCO is not. Saying a thing does not make it so.Yeah but the thing is TNG was succesful
So is Discovery.Yeah but the thing is TNG was succesful

It really pains me to say it but Discovery is in a desperate state, it really saddens me to admit that.
This next season may well be it's last.
Well in this era...You must be new to the internet.
As do many shows nowadays. Completely different ballgame, and CBS knows it.We both know it isn't.
TNG was all over mainstream tv in the 90s, Discovery has a niche audience of hardcore fans. It's apples and oranges.
Picard has a very limited shelf-life. And even if it didn't, it's banking on currency that doesn't have long-term ROI. Frankly, the probability of Disco season four (or even five) is still much greater than Picard season two.

Wasn't there Romulan/Borg stuff in the Shatner books even before that? I haven't read them so I could be wrong, but it feels familiar.Note though, the Romulans messing with Borg tech came from Countdown first, which Kurtzman was part of IIRC.

Too much to ask for these days! Also, proof is needed for such claims of DISCO's lack of success. As in hard facts, data, numbers, etc. Not random opining on the Interwebz.
