Or most of the Moclans are female, but they're still played by the same male actors is drag.

Just saw a brief phone video of Adrienne and Scott at their wedding, dancing to "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now"* from the movie Mannequin.

    That was cute, and sweet.

I had no idea they were dating. I guess it's a testament to their acting skills, because if you told me a couple from Orville was dating, they are one of the last pairs I would guess! Their characters just have no chemistry on set. But I'm glad they do in real life!

Firstly, *(just) Starship by that time.

I wonder if they'll do an opening like this.

Thanks. I actually remember 80's pop and the cheesy movies with some fondness.

I had a pair of those sunglasses too. Different colors, but the same style.

The only change they'll need to make to the credits is changing Scott Grimes to Scott Palicki.

So it'll be released on Hulu a year and a half from now.

    That kinda sucks.

Yup. A bit of a depressing long wait but hiatuses are nothing new, it's the quality of the show that returns being more important and Orville was renewed seemingly late in the proverbial day. I Will be doing my free trial then. Maybe earlier if Hulu has enough going on, the on-demand aspects are pretty cool and I reserve blu-ray and 4K only for the best shows like Star Trek. I somewhat suspected this could be the case and made a supposition a couple months ago, given season 2's ratings drop. But, as expected, I will be signing up. And 10-13 episodes, which is just about on par with the current season length count, that doesn't mean there won't be a budget drop. There might be fewer special effects-heavy scenes. Or fewer times we see Yaphit or Dann or others requiring huge gobs of make-up.

Or more bottle shows or other cost cutting filler that shreds the notion that fewer episode seasons means less filler, like that pointless cell phone episode or the pee-pee-time escapade from season 2, given the Moclan and Kaylon subplots that clearly needed as much time for development as possible.

But given the ratings drop, I would also suspect they might be looking back at season 1 and re-adopting that formula and I wonder what made season 2 change its format to begin with. Or trying a third approach. It's probably too late to give IsaaClaire (or ClaIssac?) a fair closure (season 2 seemed to gloss over or rush it all, flat out ignoring the kids in the process) but it would be interesting to see where Isaac goes. More development on LaMarr as he's had less material than Gordon (but at least LaMarr still of higher quality stuff than classic bits Gordon received, the likes include "Wash your mouth out with Gordon" or the cell phone episode.)

Not sure which one is worse... that one, or:

After all, any video that starts with the land of the Teletubbies is not a good sign...

And, yes, mid-80s off-the-shelf standard synthpop is what new wave devolved into once it fell into the same bland crooning of people wanting codependence, without or without illicit substance abuse to assist, but metaphor just as with double-meaning is a beautiful thing... unless it's ugly, gotta love the videos... (Jefferson Starship was never a pioneer for punk or new wave but they did pioneer the hippies as Jefferson Airplane... at least they didn't need Autotune and made music with more than 2 instruments, which is all that's needed nowadays and people claim devolution isn't real... this is why I hate those music promos where they flaunt the names of people with good bodies, then one looks for the current hit song and then pukes over how wretchingly trite it is... dang, I'm flying all over the map at warp speed today...)

Well that was a surprise. It makes sense, but now other than Sports I have no reason to watch the Fox Network.

Starship was awesome! I use to listen to the song, Sara all the time in high school because I had a crush on a girl named Sara. Jason

Glad to hear it's coming back, but disappointed it'll be so long. I wonder if being on Hulu means they'll take things a bit father in terms of adult content. If nothing else I could at least see the occasional fuck now.

I dumped Dish a few years ago, so was already watching Orville on Hulu the day after.

The long wait, however, sucks donkey balls.

Based on Veronica Mars, likely not. Hulu asked Rob Thomas to keep the language PG-13 for the revival because they didn't want their to be a clash between previous seasons and the new seasons for families watching.

And then The Orville won't be pre-empted or shifted around due to sporting events either.

The Orville strikes me as something that probably has a lot older audience than Veronica Mars.

I don't know how much you know about Veronica Mars, but in the pilot we find out the titular character (a high school junior) has been raped at a school party, her best friend murdered violently, and her alcoholic mother abandoned her and her father. Season 1&2 later dealt with incest, murder, spousal abuse, class warfare, gang warfare, teachers sleeping with high school students, adultery, and more murder. It was not designed for a young audience.

I wonder if this will affect how it airs in Canada. For context, a number of streaming shows air on broadcast TV in Canada, like Disco and Picard for example air on our Space channel. More relevant to this matter, The Handmaid's Tale (which I believe is Hulu?) airs on Bravo in Canada, and Canada's City TV (which Orville airs on) airs the new Twilight Zone. So I guess there's a possibility I might not need to alter my viewing habits when Orville season 3 airs. On the bright side, this increases the chances of a fourth season.

And on a final note, I guess this proves everyone wrong who were saying "Fox has to keep the show. Seth MacFarlane has too much influence with them."
