I wonder if the Borg attacked the Romulan empire after the homeworld was destroyed and Picard led an armada to go after the Borg.

I suspect that scene with Picard and Data, is a way to show Picard thinking through decisions, and is showing what is in his head. That or a hologram Picard consults.
So instead of Iconians it’s the Borg’s fault?

Yeah, but in Discovery it was more abstract, here it looks like they copied the entire thing, same color scheme and all.
I was getting the sense that it might be a holographic game with Data as well. The first part of the trailer suggests that Data's death still weighs on him. Which wouldn't be the case if Data as we knew him was alive and well.
Could not agree more. This trailer was amazing.That trailer was spectacular. I already wanted to like the show and was cautiously optimistic, but now I'm just beyond hyped. The only negative is that the show isn't out for me to watch right now

A lot of great news today! I like the Picard trailer. Much better than I expected. I also really like the Short Trek trailer. I am definitely looking foward to the two with Pike, Spock and Number One after watching it. And the way they asked the audience if they want a Pike Enterprise series, I suspect it might really happen. The animation style of Lower Decks is also really cute. I was hoping for something nice looking and I got it. And the premise sounds also interesting.

I just had a thought. I wonder if the inclusion of 7 of 9 was a way for CBS All Access to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Voyager without bringing back the entire Voyager cast. It's a small minor thing, but I keep wondering why 7 of 9 is in this series when she has nothing to do with TNG.
It definitely seemed to me that Data was not a "real" character. Probably in Picard's mind.
But she has everything to do with the Borg. A former drone like Picard.
