We have all the material we need to clone a woolly mammoth, a species that has been extinct for 3,600 years!! There are still a few obstacles but we are progressively overcoming them. Experts think that we could have a baby mammoth in less than ten years. How cool is that?

The DNA technology can now even extract samples from fossils and
not only from tissues that are mummified or in permafrost etc.
Even if DNA degrades after a couple of millon year's
to a non-usable point
we can theoretically bring back a lot of extinct spices.

I would love to see a sabre-tooth tiger.

So would I, but with something between us, like a thick transparent wall maybe.


Plus if the method could be made reasonably cheap (practice makes perfect) we could bring back plenty of species more recently disappeared because of our stupidity. You know that's usually how things evolve. First, we find a way to do something and then we find a cheaper way to do it.

We're still decades away from using de-extinction on any practical scale. A study says that reintroducing the wooly mammoth in Siberia could be an efficient way of fighting global warming. However, it will only work if there are around one hundred thousand of them there. (that's not that many considering the size of that region). But that's something most likely not even our grandchildren's grandchildren will ever see.

Today, I learned that a key safe has been installed on my noisy neighbour's door. It must have happened between last Wednesday and today.

Which means that I can finally relax and it's a strange feeling. The three year battle is over but I've got some unfinished business with the local council/local government. I still want to pursue legal action. I honestly feel they did a number on me because it's hard to articulate the facts while still dealing with the long term emotional/physical impact.

Recently, I also learned that the local council/local government have a problem with their complaints system. Around 46% of complaints made between 2018/2019 were related to the poor standard of service.

The best part was reading that they needed the public's feedback on which areas to improve, and then proceeding to answer their own question in a 'here's one we made earlier' fashion. They literally printed a six column table that outlined the areas of improvement in the paragraph below. Sometimes, it feels like they're freely handing over the ammunition to kill themselves.

So i used about fifty years to gather some awareness about "the problem with plastic"...
and i now finally try to recycle everything.
The thing is that there's a lot of products and packaging etc that's either not labeled at all
or as i just read... in many cases it's wrongly labeled (!)
(i've been throwing my drip-coffee packaging and chips/peanut bags in the wrong thingy all along)
It's hard to save the world when we cant even get that right...

Maybe the plastic-eating bacteria that have been found can save us?
random thought:....where did they come from?
what did that bacteria eat before we made plastic, and if they eat ALL plastic... will they then die from starvation? =)

anyway.. while writing this i was google a little bit;
