my mom just called me with the sole purpose to inform me that she forgot why she wanted to call me - took her about 45 minutes
It's been 53/54 days since my noisy neighbour disappeared. Yesterday, there was a woman from the local council/local government waiting outside. She was holding a big folder. Then a repairman arrived. He spent around twenty minutes drilling, or doing something, and then left. I assumed that he was installing a key safe on the noisy neighbour's door. But that wouldn't take twenty minutes to do. Today, I had to know why. After a quick investigation, the repairman had fixed the glass panel in my noisy neighbour's front door. I didn't know it had been broken. Although, it made sense given the tone that night of May 17th. Which makes me wonder who informed the local council/local government of the damage? And... Did they know that the noisy neighbour has been AWOL for nearly two months? The situation doesn't make me feel any better. I mean, I've enjoyed the peace and quiet but a door repair doesn't mean the noisy neighbour won't come back. I'm hoping that something good will happen in the next seven days. The local council/local government might have given them four weeks to respond. If the noisy neighbour doesn't respond by next Thursday then he's definitely not coming back. At least, I hope he doesn't come back and they'll start abandonment procedure. (Installing a key safe.)
I can't buy it all falling on one person though. Ultimately the schism was between Paul & John, & I'm sure Yoko's influence in John's life was a large contributing factor, in interesting him in less pop music directions. He wanted to change artistic directions & Paul wasn't on board, nor was John on board for the directions of the group However, in subsequent years, I've heard talk that Paul can be a dick. They were all getting older, getting in couplings etc... There's no reason that the new way of life as family men couldn't work for everyone, & there's no reason they couldn't choose to encourage each other's artistic leanings, enough to keep the group on good terms Ultimately John & Paul just got judgmental about one another's artistic predilections. After all that talk of love & openmindedness & togetherness etc... They bailed on each other, & while that happens in almost all groups, because of that message, it really lands worse imho
I got a rebate check in the mail from National Grid for a $2.80 overcharge. ...Not sure what I'm supposed to do with a check that's barely more than the cost of the gas it would take me to get to the bank. Since they have my routing number don't know why they couldn't just deposit it in my bank account.
is there a deadline? If not, you can keep the cheque at hand and cash it in next time you are in your bank's vicinity
When I try to write a lyric I'm not fussed whether the words rhyme as such, so long as the narrative flows through the song.
To me unless you’re a certain kind of singer (Bob Dylan type, Gil Scot Heron type, etc), the aesthetics of the lyrics do more for the overall song than the story itself. It’s not just about rhyming. Also alliteration, meter, visual evocativeness, etc. There’s a lot of Beatles songs which if you just follow the story it’s a generic ’Guy likes girl’ story, but the poetic value makes it special.
