    No.

Anyway, the Short Trek thing came out the other day - it features Peck and Romijn but so far there's no mention of Mount.

It just occurred to me what a cool bit of metacasting it would be if Romijn voiced the computers on Star Trek: Picard.

maybe we find out WHY "Number 1" seemingly disappears in relation to future voyages of the 1701; and Spock never brings it up -- IE The Short Trek involves her, Spock, and an airlock...:vulcan::wtf::whistle:;)

I wonder if they can control themselves and not make the "Enterprise" Short Treks about Michael Burnham?

None of the existing ones have been about her, so I think we're good.

But a future Short Trek has been confirmed to have Spock and Number One (but NOT Burnham), so even if you buy into this ridiculous Burnham hate, you should be happy.

Spock can't mention Michael under the Penalty of Treason. Which I personally think should be challenged under the Penalty of Bullshit, but that's a whole other issue.

Looking forward to seeing more Number One. She drew the short straw during Season 2, unfortunately.

What Burnham hate? I just don't think these writers can resist having Spock and Number One gab about her.

I think it'll be Spock adjusting to life without her.

They'll have an explanation on why Spock and Number One had their personalities switched between Cage and Disc/TOS. After the Rigel incident, Spock mindmelded with Number One and she ended up hyperlogical while he ended up smiling at flowers and eating hamburgers. It wore off after the Cage.

I disagree. I want Short Treks to be breeding grounds for ideas, no serials, but strange, untold stories in the Trek universe. Actually, I want all of Trek, not just Disco. Interesting ideas that either they don't want a full-length episode, it's irrelevant for the story arc, or short form fiction that is just an interesting idea. I hate what they did with the 1st series of Short Treks--working them all as teasers of the larger stories aboard Discovery.

But, I can wish all day...

I agree with your sentiment. But they might as well use the sets they built and see if Pike has legs.

Star Trek: The Early Voyages, speaking of wishes, should recapture the spirit of early Star Trek (before Menagerie). No long arcs, serialized, or recurrences. It should feel strange, standalone, with longer edits and no blunt music.

The character of Pike is headed for burnout. Spock is emotional and has to earn a bond with Pike. Number One should build a case for why she should be on the bridge, and I would like a new element. An alien on-par with Doug Jones as a Kelpian and Leonard Nimoy's designs on Vulcans. Someone like Odo or Data. We know Spock, at least a version of him, but I want someone who is new, and engaging. Someone never seen before.

Perhaps a character that pushes the limits of exploration, is brash and unafraid, but ultimately dies by not adhering to the rules. Give him qualities that Spock would see in Kirk, and think he might be headed to the same fate. A psychological wrinkle to counter Burnham's call to respect differences and find friendship. So, the conflict in Spock is seeing these two realities and, from week to week, this is playing out in Spock, in TOS. He may even befriend him in the way Burnham suggests, but Spock is burned by his own conduct influenced by this character, and by eventually losing him.

Hey, Burnham and Uhura are practically twins. Why not an early Kirk, psychologically?

As for themes? Keep it exploration.
