Alec is NO mentor (the blind leading the blind) , he has very little experience making fan films. Prelude was most all Gossett and many of the same crew working on Renegades. Alec went from selling costumes and props to a wannabe producer . He has already failed and made bad decisions. Remember, the first rule of a fan film producer is to actually make a god dam film, not procrastinate for over 4 years being a money black hole!
He can't even keep a coffeehouse open.............

Where was this announced/mentioned?

I don't know how long the info has been out there but this video that popped up in my youtube recommended feed is where I found out.

You're assuming that the ultimate goal of that tutelage is the timely completion of what was funded/promised. It would normally be a reasonable assumption but that ship has sailed and sunk for both projects; I'm just hoping that backers get something for their donations in the end. If the goal is instead to keep collecting monthly patreon donations for years while shifting the goal posts further and further into the future, I can't think of a better mentor.

Pacific 201 has been shot and is just in post-production. I just hope it's not the kind of eternal post-production something like Axanar: Heroes "enjoys"

Meh---in November he posted he was about 50% done editing. He's turned of visitor posts on their Facebook page. It would only take a few minutes to do a weekly monthly update.......even if it is just to say real life and work is keeping him busy. Going MIA makes me want to lump him in with all the other never to been seen films. Hell he had time to live stream with Alec FFS.

From a Kickstarter post on June 15th, 2019:
We have a really busy schedule lined up for the coming months. We've just about locked down our final shooting schedule, which kicks in at the end of June and goes through the beginning of August. While principal photography with our full 360-degree bridge set was completed months ago, there always remained a few final scenes to shoot. We're finally working on completing those while we continue to tirelessly edit and produce assets for digital sequences.

Needless to say, things have been crazy busy and there's hardly any breathing room. But we're working hard to bring this film to you hopefully in the next few months!
So it sounds like they've got most if Pacific 201 shot and edited, but there are specific scenes that weren't on the main sets that haven't been filmed.

Even with this link to AP, seeing as we've seen a couple of vignettes from the Pacific crew, along with all the BTS videos about the ship designs, leaves me cautiously optimistic we WILL see this project come to fruition.

Yes, the lack of communication is frustratiing, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

If the Axanar debacle has taught me anything, it's that nothing matters except for the finished product delivered to the backers. Pacific 201 exceeded it's 2015 kickstarter goal of $20k with $26k+, another $5k+ on indigogo so far, and some portion of the current $450+ per month that he has had for several years on patreon for the film (his youtube and patreon previously focused heavily on Pacific 201 but he's pretty much ignored it for a long while now about as long as he has been ignoring inquiries about the status). While it's no where near the duplicity and gall exhibited with the Axanar project, the fact that he's buddying up with the later is concerning to me given the other things going on. If communication and updates (other than a random screenshot of a scene every few months on facebook and zero updates on indigogo in four years) hadn't become so scant along with the years long delays, it'd be another story. If he comes out with it it'll be in 2020 at the earliest according to the video I linked and over 5 years late. That's still better than nothing but not particularly laudible IMO.

Another Interlude update on Fan Film Factor listing some of the problems encountered over last month and a half:
https://fanfilmfactor.com/2019/06/2...dnt-expect-when-i-decided-to-make-a-fan-film/
I wonder how many more disasters will strike and force them to push things back or need more money?
And do they really need to go to people all the way in fucking Italy to get their costumes? I find it very, very hard to believe that there is nobody in the US that can make Starfleet Uniform costumes. I believe both the Kelvinverse movies, and Discovery were able to find American costume designers, weren't they?
I also can't help but wonder where Alec and Crystal were that it took 2 hours to get the dog help. I would think that somewhere in that time they would have been able to just grab it and throw in the car, or at least chase it away from the road.

"How high's the water Mama?"
"Three feet high and risin'."
"How high's the water, Papa?"
"She said it's three feet high and risin'."

There's a Johnny Cash song for every situation. Truth.

And by the way, WHERE'S THE MOVIE, SLAP? :techman:

The movie and the audio play are both filming same weekend in October.
