Did they say it was a latrine? I thought it was merely a garbage dump. BTW, that episode contains some major bullshit. I mean Trip says that they can't fight it because it's a silicon-based virus. But it goes BOTH WAYS, a silicon-based virus can't reproduce using a Carbon-based DNA!!! I mean, please!!
I watched it in Hungarian but I'm pretty sure she said "Klingon latrine." The Memory Alpha synopsis says it too, so it probably was a latrine.
Actually, Hoshi mentioned a latrine but she never said she searched through it. Why would she search Klingon crap, anyway? I've seen actual latrines, during my time in the Army we did some outdoor stuff and we had to crap in holes in the ground. Believe me, you don't want to search that!!!
"Absolutes are for followers. Context is for kings." I think Lorca laid out the whole of DSC with that line.
Looks like I'll be shooting some stuff with a friend at a public access station on Thursday. One of the things we'll be shooting is talking about Star Trek. I'll be in front of the camera. I'll give a shout out to TrekBBS and post a link to the episode when it's up.
I think it's a lot exaggerated. There are common points to all Sci. Fi. movies and I've watched Terminator II and III and IV and V, only the first one, is worth anything. The others are barely worth watching. Anyway, Disco doesn't feel like a ripoff of any of these.
Huh? I think you read something into my post that wasn't there. In fact, I'm pretty sure of it. I just think it's a great line. And with all the arguing about S31, I agree with the line in that context matters. I don't know what you're talking about with rip-offs and I'm not that familiar with the Terminator movies. I like 1 and 2. T2 was the first R-rated movie I ever saw. I was 12 and getting my mother to let me watch was like pulling teeth until she finally relented. So that movie has some sentimental value for me and I think it's a cool movie, but otherwise I'm not really a Terminator fan. So I'm lost in regards to your post.
Well, it wasn't addressed to you particularly but I thought your remark was about Disco being a rip-off, sorry if I was mistaken about that but my response is valid concerning other posters in this thread.
I'm as pro-Disco as you can get. Most the other posters in this thread are too. Some aren't but that's okay.
We just wrapped! We'll be editing the episode now. I plug the board twice. At the beginning and toward the end. If we have new members because of this, you can thank me.
I mentioned this in another thread. Wished that the writers would have put some acknowledgment of that irony into the dialog.
Weren't there supposed to be a couple of new Short Treks, shortly after the end of season two? Did I somehow miss them? If not, is there a release date?
Yeah I thought that, also, from Lower Decks. Maybe they're behind. I haven't heard anything about a schedule for Lower Decks. Mike McMahan might be busy finishing up Rick and Morty season 4, too.
Here it is! The first episode of Streaming to the Stars. It's a half-hour long. link Not a lot about Discovery, though we do touch upon it around the five-minute mark. My co-host and I talk about Star Trek in general, how we became fans, our favorite Star Trek episodes, our favorite Star Trek movies, etc. Like I said, it's pretty general, but there we are. Go easy, it's our first episode, if you watch. It'll get better. And, as I said, I plug TrekBBS at the beginning and end. Though we talk about Star Trek in this episode, in future episodes we'll be going into sci-fi movies in general, sci-fi TV, anime, whatever. We'll mix it up.
Soooooo, since you plugged TBBS in your video and the video on the BBS.... Does that mean you're plugging the BBS on the BBS? When will someone pull the plug on all this madness!?
