Dune 2018 (19,20,21...)

That's a given, but what other reasons might there be (other than KJA's ego)?
I mean, unfortunately, that's probably reason enough. This upcoming film will be an interesting test of this particular franchise.

I mean, it sounds like you have a lot more experience than I so I'll probably defer to your experience. But, I'm skeptical that this movie means anything more than just one movie.

Ah, OK. I was just curious because both versions seem to quite a few fans.

Wow, I forgot most of those people were going to be in it.
So how do you pronounce the director's name? I've been trying to figure it out since I first saw Arrival.

Sorry I haven't been updating. My private life has gone upside down so I just haven't been able too :( thanks to those that have! I don't see anyone mentioning Villeneuve is also directing a streaming series called "The Sisterhood" for WB's new service. It will be about the Bene Gesserit, obviously ;)

He's French Canadian like the F1 drivers (father and son) Jacques Villenueve so if you can find a video clip where they are mentioned you'll have you answer.

I can hear the pronunciation in my head but can't put it into words.

No worries! Real life always takes precedence. I hope everything is okay.

It may have already fallen to the second page of the forum, but there is a separate thread about The Sisterhood.

As per the Far From Home thread (I'm feeling too lazy to copy the photograph over), Zendaya has dyed her hair red, presumably for this film.

So, basically, he's Dennis Newton.

It turns out we are not only getting the movie later this year, EW has revealed that we are also going to be getting the first ever graphic novel adaptation of the first Dune book in October. This will be the first of a three part adaptation, written by (shudder) Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, with art by Raul Allen and Patricia Martin, and covers by Bill Sienkiewicz. Brian Herbert does say in the EW article that it will be "faithful graphic novel adaptation", so hopefully they'll just stick to his dad's stuff. The article also reveals the designs for Paul, Duke Leto, and Lady Jessica.
