THR| 'Krypton' Spinoff 'Lobo' in the Works at Syfy

Bold move, considering he's yet to make his first appearance on "Krypton". And, to be honest, what was shown of him in the trailers didn't really excite me. But they're in the script phase right now, and according to the article, should Syfy be happy with the script for the pilot, they'd seek to do a deal with Emmett J. Scanlan to reprise the role.

The article also mentions that the feature movie was still in development with Michael Bay unfortunately still attached.

If Lobo is done well it could be...interesting. Probably better to do it as a replacement for Krypton, though :shifty:

Lobo was a guilty pleasure of mine but I'm not sure about them doing it justice. Guess we'll get a taste tonight.

Here's Krypton's Lobo with a screaming skull on his dick. Clearly this is worth producing over Seasons 2-3 of Swamp Thing.

Actually, Krypton has proven better and more enjoyable than I expected. Looking forward to the season premiere tonight. :techman:

I cannot wait for the first appearance of Space Cabbie or the Wanderers.

I still think Lobo would have been a better fit on Legends of Tomorrow.

If DC wants my viewership they'll drop everything and give Ambush Bug a tv show and five movie deal.

He's been alluded to as existing in Supergirl's universe, and known to the DEO.

Well, there doesn't seem to be a Krypton season 2 review thread yet, but I'll say here that, so far, I find Emmett Scanlan almost as bad as Lobo as he was as Jim Corrigan on Constantine. I can barely understand a word he's saying. And they're giving this guy his own spinoff?

I just saw “New 52 Lobo” for the first time via Google and after picking my jaw up off the floor that design might’ve actually kind of worked for Krypton. I get the impression that it wasn’t too well received...

the New 52 Lobo went completely against the concept of Lobo. They tried to make him some hardcore, serious assassin. Lobo was made to basically be a parody of 90s extreme grim 'n' gritty characters, so the New 52 making him an angsty looking, serious, "sexy" assassin is literally missing the point about as much as they possibly could. New 52 Lobo was pretty much universally hated, and the last time he was seen he was shrunk and stuck in a bottle in Brainiac's collection (with no hint about how he got there), with a line about how "that one" should be left on a shelf

For me throwing out the decades of stories, character development and creative risks shepherded by Jenette Kahn and Karen Berger (with a key assist by Kahn's second-in-command and successor Paul Levitz) was the cardinal sin. Everything else was just the cherry on the pile of shit.

Also, Siegel & Shuster and Finger & Kane and Lee & Kirby & Ditko built the foundation, but Kahn and Berger built the damn building. They don't get nearly enough credit. Especially Kahn.

Rebirth, as far as I know, is an evolution of the New 52, not a reboot, but I could be wrong
