When you follow the FTC's published advice to report suspected fraud to them, including detailed contact information and history of correspondence from the suspected fraudster, and after a week of reviewing your complaint, they respond with a generic form letter on how to protect yourself and report suspected fraud.

I'm more enraged than frustrated by these idiots that keep driving the wrong way through my street (it's a one-way in the opposite direction!) Next week, after my vacation, I'll file an official complaint. As my office used to be a branch of the police before it became autonomous, I might be able to pull a few strings. Slowly but surely it gets really dangerous to leave the house!

I don't know if everyone shares this frustration, but it is a personal frustration for me. I find it almost impossible to nap. The ability to take short-duration, regenerating snoozes is beyond my ken. WTF did I retire for? My dad and my brother could doze off for a 10-15 minute power nap and wake up refreshed and ready to go. I can sleep - but not nap. If I wake up after only 10-15 minutes I'm groggy and grumpy and even more useless than usual. I am incredibly jealous. Is there an instruction manual available somewhere on the art of the power nap?

My (lack of) health forces me to nap daily and I'm sick of it. I can't get anything done. If I'm lucky it'll only last an hour and I'll wake up with severe joint pain in my arms and legs. It usually lasts 2 1/2 to 3 hours and I wake up barely able to move a all. And of course, I usually have to go to the bathroom--bad, and it's an adventure getting there.

    Damn CP.

Me too. As soon as I drift off, one of my co-workers makes a noise, or my boss comes by and threatens to fire me, or some other such inconvenience.

    Rather annoying.

^ I strongly suspect this power nap thingy to be a legend (or at least something very rare and possibly abnormal). I know nobody who can successfully do it.
Sleeping 2.5-3 hours when taking a nap is perfectly normal for a human. Every species' sleep has a rhythm. Imagine it like a song with several verses. One verse lasts about 3 hours. So every 3 hours, at the end of the verse, we experience a phase of very light sleep from which we can easily awake.
That's also why many people feel more dead than alive when their alarm clock wakes them: it propably tore them out of sleep just in the middle of the cycle. In that case it helps going to bed a little earlier or getting up a bit later. The length of one sleep period varies individually and it pays to find out what is yours so that you can time your alarm clock to wake you at the end of a cycle. I've been doing that for about a decade now and it really makes a world of a difference =)

I've already done so. Prob is that there are lots of bicyclists as well and those have no license plates :( Data protection laws in my country forbid to take photos of persons who don't wish to be photographed. That's why I'll ask for an official control. Police may take pics

Hubs does very well with catnaps but I cannot sleep less than an hour - I will get up feeling worse than when I tried to go to sleep.

I usually need about 9 hours of sleep so every little crumb is welcome I suppose.

Hubs does fine on an average of 6!:vulcan:

some of my colleagues need only 6 hours, too. But then they have 8 hours of office-sleep from Monday through Friday ;)

Current frustration: it's so hot that I didn't get a chance to properly enjoy my very first ice cream of the year. It melted so fast that I had to eat it in rather a hurry :( (And I have the impression that they changed the recipe and use more sugar this year, but I might imagine that as I cut back very much on sugar and it seems to indeed be an acquired taste.)

Having to eat ice cream in a hurry IS a disappointment!

I've been trying to cut back on salt; I haven't reached the point where I don't like to eat out yet. Here's hoping.

What a local Wal-Mart did a few weeks ago...

It's, in my mind, a relative of "bait and switch". They had a hanging shelf on an end of an isle packed up with Great Value (Wal-Mart brand) parmesan cheese. Then a day or two later it was all switched out with the more expensive Kraft brand. Praying upon people's stupidity.

And before anybody wants to claim it was overstock they were putting else where, no -- they removed all the containers from the shelf on the isle, to put it on the display, leaving a big empty whole on the shelf.

Some asshat did this on purpose.

A few months ago I caught another one at the same store: the Chips Ahoy! cookies were lowered down from about $2.50 a package to like a $1.50 to $20.00. For mere days, then raised back up. My speculation: Hoping people wouldn't check the price again and assume it was still lower, 'cause most people either don't look at the price rung up or if it's not what they thought it was, they'll most times take it anyway.

I hate when they do that! I saw something similar at my local one before.

Each time I want to get my favorite brands for each product I buy at the supermarket it's like an exploratory expedition, half the stuff have been moved somewhere else!!!

So apparently a childhood of being bullied makes you hyperreactive to personal criticism no matter how far you are removed from it.

At work I’m making a Windows application. I haven’t had a Windows machine since I was 18 and nobody else at work has made installers before. So I’m learning poorly documented stuffs on the fly by Google with the expectation it will look professional quality soon.

    Dear Apple News,

You don't need to send an alert notification to my phone to let me know that St. Louis won the Stanley Cup. Sorry, but I just don't care. Before your alert, I didn't even know St. Louis was in the Stanley Cup finals, nor that they were even being played right now!
