I see. I didn't know they did it in that order. When a new President takes up residence here the old government is automatically nullified and he has to name a first minister that will then choose the new government.
There's no swearing-in ceremony though.
The chances of the line of succession becoming an actual emergency between about 12 noon and 12:05pm on Inauguration Day are pretty close to nonexistent but yeah, the new Vice President takes office a few minutes before the outgoing President leaves office.
There's no possibility of emergency linked to the ministers. Assuming the president dropped dead right after he'd replaced the old one, his job will automatically be assumed by the president of the deputies. It happened once in sixty years. New elections are then automatically organized for a new President. It takes only a couple of months. The temp President is normally just keeping a seat warm in the interim.

Ever watch a movie as a kid that even if you enjoyed you didn't fully understand until watching it again as an adult? I bought the 4K UHD of Field of Dreams and watched it, and the ending got to me. 
This movie wasn't nearly as good as Field of Dreams, but I remember watching St. Elmo's Fire as a kid and didn't understand the whole right-out-of-college phase it was about until I watched it again many years later.

For about 40 years I have owned a copy of Gravity's Rainbow the massive novel by Thomas Pynchon and have been unable to force myself to read it. I may be nuts, but i think I'm going to go for it. With the improved weather, my favorite reading spot out on the deck is calling my name and this seems like it may finally be time to take on Pynchon.

Today is the 75th anniversary of D-Day. My dad, my uncles and my father-in-law all served in combat in WWII (only one uncle was in Normandy on June 6) and I considered them all to be heroes, although they would all tell us that the only heroes are the guys who didn't get to come home.
I am just wondering if I am the only one who has to re-watch an action movie more than once to get content? I get overwhelmed by the action and miss so much. I drive people crazy when I go out to a movie with friends and they ask how I liked the movie? If it was an action movie I always say "I will let you know when I can watch it again." Does anyone else feel that way?
