Klingon Football

I confess, the title of this thread is a bit click-baity. However, I could not find any similar remarks in older threads. I found it interesting that in TMP, the Klingon birds of prey were designed after the shape of a football player. This is from the bonus features on my blu-ray. The wings are akin to shoulder pads, while the front of the ship supposedly resembles the helmet. Neat stuff.

I don't know what @Jim Klag thinks of it. But Klingons are better suited for football than for soccer. Worf played soccer when he was young, crashed into an opponent and killing him in the process. Soccer players are too fragile to resist any Klingons....

Alas, I can't see any resemblance in the Bird of Prey and a Football player.

Klingon football certainly wouldn't have any of these modern "roughing the passer" penalties. In fact, roughing the passer would be greatly encouraged. Mandatory, even.

The title is annoyingly click-baity. Perhaps a mod will see fit to make it more representative of the actual topic.
