Alt-codes have been a figurative life-saver for me!

Like, today, it's 63°F and sunny.

In 3d printing groups, µ for µm or microns is ALT+Num2+Num3+Num0

Unfortunately, I guess these only work on PC and not Mac, but I do think most mobile devices have them hidden in some alternate keyboard option somewhere.

I hang out with all these Germans, so Umlauts are de rigueur and degrees symbols, superscripts/subscripts, some Greek letters and occasional accents are also used often.

It's mostly an optical illusion by the wardrobe department. The German dubbing isn't all that bad imo. It's always a bit difficult for an actor twho hasn't played the character in the first place to get a feeling of what is right for this character. The actor/actress who actually played the part have their own ideas of the character as an inner guideline. The actor/actress who must dub a foreign production doesn't have that guideline and so their personal interpretation sometimes clashes with that of the original cast. Often, they notice their mistake after the first 5 or 6 episodes, when the character gets defined a bit clearer, but by then it's often too late to change their style as the audience already got used to it. It's a balancing act and I don't envy those who have to make a living by it.

German dubbing of whatever is tolerable at best
e.g. a movie with 3 people who are normally dubbed by the same voiceactor this time annother person is dubbed by him/her

way too few voiceactors

and some moron in charge thinking all women he finds sexy have to lisp

thedubbing is also to cheap (=false & crappy)

most actors who primaly work with the voice get castrated

Your examples are nations though, yes? I have trouble figuring it out myself too, but people who go to marijuana legal places & smoke it there, people who go to prostitution legal places (Which we have here) & do that. I mean, from a legal aspect, what's the difference really? In the case of abortion, I guess you'd just have to make sure they couldn't declare you pregnant in your own state & then be able to declare you not suitably upon return. Keep your state out of it, at all costs, essentially?

That's stupid if it's true. Your state doesn't own you, and your country doesn't own you, it should just be able to control what happens in its own border.

What are the laws about living in one state where something is illegal, going to another state where it's not illegal and doing it, then coming back to your home state? I'd assume there's no valid legal way to prosecute somebody for doing something in a place it's legal, or else a ton of Colorado tourists are in trouble, but if you tried to prosecute it, you'd publicly advertise the person as somebody who had an abortion and cause them to get harassed and threatened.

It depends on the gravity of the crime. In France, sex tourism (especially if there are minors involved) is illegal even if you do it in remote countries.
