Spoilers Batwoman - Season 1

I saw a claim in an article that the series as a whole would be set before Batwoman's Elseworlds appearance, rather than just the pilot. I'm not sure that adds up, since the description here does say it's 3 years after Batman disappeared, so it can't be very long before Elseworlds, which was also 3 years after. So that's not a lot of wiggle room in between.

I hope the whole thing isn't a prequel, since that would make crossovers difficult. I can't believe they'd leave Batwoman out of Crisis on Infinite Earths.

I know we'd heard that the Pilot was set before the events of "Elseworlds", but actually seeing the evidence of that feels a little weird.

Impressive. I hear people calling Ruby Rose a mediocre actress, but I don't really see it. I think she projects amazing intensity and presence. Maybe her tone doesn't vary much, but her default setting is really compelling. And she conveys a lot of physical power in the action scenes.

Interesting that her costume is actually modified from Batman's, and that there's an explanation for why she adds the vivid red wig, to make it clear that she is no man. I gotta say, though, I'm tired of Batman costumes where the chest emblem is the same color as the suit and is only discernible by texture. I miss the yellow oval.

I can't believe they'd leave Batwoman out of Crisis on Infinite Earths.

The updating Crisis article in the teaser from the season finale of The Flash mentions Batwoman being there.

It also mentions White Canary, so it looks like Legends won't be sitting out this one either even if the show doesn't return before Crisis.

Depending on how early it launches, Arrow could go off the air before the end of this year since we only get 10 weeks of it.

They usually air 9 before the break, I doubt they'd hold off just one so I'd say it's a fairly safe bet they'll air all this year.

She is his cousin in the comics.

Yep.

Bruce's mother, Martha, is the sister of Jacob Kane, Kate's father.

Martha and Jacob have at least th other brothers, one of whom is the father of Mary Elizabeth "Bette" Kane, who becomes the "Robin" (as Flamebird/Firehawk) to Kate's Batwoman.

In the CW series, Bette's role has been taken by Kate's younger stepsister, Mary Hamilton.

I am so tired of CW's In-Name-Only attitude for 90% of the characters in its CW shows. As someone who was a big fan of the comic Batwoman before DC fired her writers (for wanting her to have a successful relationship of all things, because Dan Didio is a nutjobe of Joe Quesada proportions when it comes to superhero relationships), I'd be up for a live action Batwoman, if she resembled the actual damn character.

I won't even give this a pity watch like I did the first part of S1 of Black Lightning (which as a show has a main character that at least resembles the actual character enough to justify calling it Black Lightning), it would just piss me off too much. If Legends of Tomorrow didn't exist, this would be the worst DCCW show by far.

This looks better than I thought it would be.
Agreed. I'm actually interested, whereas before I was planning to watch mostly for the sake of Arrowverse completionism.

Please remember the lesson of Shazam! :)
