And, for good measure, here's my setplan I did for Star Trek Continues' Stage 9, as it would've looked when they wrapped production in 2017:

I went to the production docs and shooting schedules, and here's the complete list of sets for both pilots by soundstage for anyone who's interested. Note that these schedules confirm that all of the Enterprise sets that had been on Stage 16 moved to 15 for the WNMHGB. If accurate (and I see no reason they would not be) no Enterprise sets were on Stage 16 for the second go round, ergo the Briefing Room was NOT on 16 as per the reconstructions prior to this post date.

Took another stab at fitting all of the Enterprise sets into Desilu Culver Stage 15, and it all fits like a glove.

Thank you for bringing the briefing room inside the studio walls. ;)

Since this isn't that old, I'll go ahead and post.

I was reading through this and I tried redrawing it and I've found the briefing room set is too small. It is much bigger. I watched both pilot episodes and found that the position of the slanted columns is identical, only the center ceiling pieces rotated 30 degrees between pilots (as well as a new paint job). The table is the same, but the TV and control box are missing in WHMHGB. I have not removed the one column or the wall (the bottom side) that would have been removed for filming both pilot briefing room scenes. I also noted that the shot of Pike walking down the corridor to his cabin that shows the briefing room has the table in a completely different position from when they shot the briefing room scene in The Cage. This is also the Bridge from The Cage. Since only in WNMHGB is the command island rotated, I plan on skipping that detail.

After some additional work, here is my plan for The Cage (including a full Pike's cabin). I did not remove any walls from the briefing room, but I spotted at least 5 of the columns between the two pilots.

And there is my plan for WHMHGB. I corrected the one feature to be a frosted window and I fixed a few little things and put in the second ladder.

I did not shift the command island on the bridge. I redrew the turbolift car and left the single doors where the series bridge shows double doors. I can find no issue with the angle.

In The Cage, there is no step down to the conference room where there is in WNMHGB (I think 2 steps from the little I could see). Also, when Kirk and Spock come out of the Transporter room at the beginning, they actually come out of the next door over. I think for the conference room that the column by the chair at the end of the table to the right is missing and that section of wall from the bottom column to the door is open, but I couldn't be sure so I left it whole. The other columns are there in various shots. The ceiling piece is the same in the conference room and in Pike's quarters, but in WNMHGB, it is rotated so the columns line up differently, but the spacing and position of the columns stayed the same. I didn't get many screen caps because I just played the pilots over and over to find the details.

Since the sets got moved around between the pilots that seems logical given the slope in those stages.
That's interesting but it seems odd that they'd hack up a table and then repair it rather than just getting another table.

They could just as easily built the screen cabinate with a slot for the table to slide into. The screen was there in the opening scene of WNMHGB when the set served as the rec room.

I believe the conference table appeared in “The Cage” (I can’t see where the screen or the dictaphone was cut into the table)

    And probably “Space Seed”

This episode was the only one where the base was obscured from view and the table top covered.

Also, it seems that the stage floor was level between the briefing lounge and the corridor.

At that end of the stage where they put the wall flat behind the door, sure. But the elevation difference between the main corridor set and the briefing room was fairly significant.

Fair enough. I wanted to make sure I wasn’t misremembering a scene I’ve watched—ah—more than once or twice.

That's great work, but isn't Pike's bed a little long? Or are you choosing to represent what it should have been rather than what is was on screen?

I confess that I just copied the bed from Kirk's quarters, so it is what it should be rather than what we saw on screen.

IIRC from when I studied and modeled Kirk's bed, it's the same size as Pike's. It may even be the same bed, just with a different dressing. People talk about how short Pike's bed is, but as someone that's just a tad taller than Jeffrey Hunter was, my feet don't fit fully extended on some beds either, especially in boots. Food for thought.

Yeah, there were exits on either side of the set.

Just took another stab at refining the floorplan, thanks to @yotsuya for mentioning the briefing room was at the wrong scale. Did some experimentation and rescaled it so it's better proportioned to the rest of the floorplan. The gigantic jpeg I'm using for the briefing room had to be scaled to 43% of its original size to match the other rooms on the floorplan.

The fit is a little tighter this time 'round, but still goes in there pretty well!

It's so fantastic that this studio set is finally being nailed down correctly!

It looks great. I have only couple of tiny issues. First, the bridge railings aren't correct. The front steps stayed directly in front of and in line with the view screen. The railing to the port side only has 2 sections instead of three (meaning one of the starboard railings must have 4 instead of 3 sections). Second, the columns in the briefing room and the table don't quite match WNMHGB. The table is rotated and pointing more toward the door and when it acts as a briefing room there is no screen at the end of the table or control box on the table. The screen is there when it is serving as the rec room at the beginning of the episode, but gone when it is used as a briefing room. And the columns should align to 60 degree spacing. The camera doesn't cover the other side so we don't know the position of those two columns, but the other four all are in shots were we get a clear view of how it connects to the ceiling. But in The Cage, in the various shots it shows all 6 columns and the columns are the same, just with a fresh coat of paint in WNMHGB. They also are nicely aligned to the doors in The Cage.
