THE ORVILLE Season Three...

The Kaylon ought to be at least as significant going forward as the Krill have been thus far.

The Kaylon ought to be at least as significant going forward as the Krill have been thus far.

I was under the impression they set up the Kaylon to be the big bad of the series going forward, kind of like the Dominion or I guess The Borg?

Which is what the Krill were, earlier in the series. It'd be fun to see the stories keep evolving past whoever is the current antagonists, running into new and unexpected problems.

MacFarlane did a fun thing with the Kaylons, a trick that was real hard to pull off: there were so many flashing alarm lights going off around Isaac from the earliest days of the show, but The Orville was so clearly not the kind of show that would ever go there, committing in a big way to a story like that..

I want Bortas to ditch Klyden in season 3 and do the single dad in space thing.
Unless an episode explains cogently how what seems like a mockery can fit into the canon the makers claim it is in. which they may have done but whatever the resolution for Spock becoming a mass murderer of his shrinks was, and still managed to become second in command of the Federation flagship... seems a bit bizarre.
This is right up there with watching part one of "Gambit" in isolation and then insisting Picard can never be captain again after faking his death and joining a pirate ship:lol:

At first I was unhappy about Alara leaving, but I actually really came to like Talla, and I prefer her now. I appreciate how matter-of-fact she is.

I'm so happy this show was renewed, it has become one of my favorites.

It does mean stabbing Klyden to death. I mean, unless they find some loophole from ancient times about not stabbing the females or something.

is the stabbing for divorce or separation (if just the former Bortus might have wiggle room).

Wow! Someone not a fan of a show NOT wishing it to be cancelled because other people like it. That's amazing!
You had to see the problems I had years ago when someone incessantly demanded for the cancellation of ENTERPRISE, and I responded that they should just not watch and let people who enjoy the show go on enjoying the show. What a ruckus. I was brigged for a while, even my avatar was suspect.
You have a great attitude. If someone doesn't like a show, don't watch it. Don't try to get it cancelled because there are people who do like it.
I'm the same way regarding 'The Orville'. I don't care for it (it IS the definition of a TNG retread and too much Klingo...er Moclan stuff in S2 for me) ;); and I'm long past the utopian Berman & Braga era myself, and while it had shades of TOS in S1 for S2 it went full bore (and mostly boring except for a few eps.) TNG - yet it's good that FOX either felt there was enough of a fanbase (or still want to keep Seth happy during his contract renegotiation) that they gave it another season.

So again, congrats to 'The Orville' fans. You get a third season of the show you enjoy.

Bortus would probably go through official channels to divorce Klyden. Klyden wouldn't have it and would try stabbing him again so Bortus would probably have to kill him. Bortus is more open to doing things the for lack of a better word the "human" way over the moclan way as the series progresses.

I finished reading The World of The Orville last night, and the last chunk of the book wasn't quite as good as the rest of it. It was focused on the new setting and aliens introduced in each episode, but it didn't really go into that much depth about any of, so a lot was stuff you could more or less pick up just from the episodes. There were still a few interesting bits of information, like what locations they used for some of the exteriors, but not as much as the stuff focused on The Orville, characters, and the Krill.
Still highly recommend it for an fan of the show though.

Praise Avis till it Hertz.

Good one! :D

Yep, same here. She's really come into her own. I was worried that she'd be little more than a replacement, but she has a distinct personality over Alara that I feel they've explored more fully over the course of the season.

Deadline confirms what other trade sites are reporting: The Orville is renewed for a third year.

Relieved and VERY happy to learn this news. I wonder how the Orville's crew
will bounce back after the events seen in episodes 13 & 14... . Without forgetting to solve Bortus problematic marital situation (I hope that Klyden and Bortus will
decide to take separate paths without bloodshedn, which would be a bit extreme & Isaac's lack of social/love life (I liked his relationship with Doctor Clair Finn & the children but he needs to meet "someone" who suits him better. As for Ed/Kelly, I don't know if their lovestory is really over but they need a long pause before maybe rekindling it in the Orville's season's final... when that will happen.

Very happy about this renewal news.

I also like the dedicated episode threads. They help me keep track and avoid spoilers if I'm late watching an episode.
