Light, high warp civilian transport ship. About 48m-50m long. Set around the year 2200. There is a developing story idea about crew, but in the meantime, also working on the ship. Making the interiors as well. But here are some exteriors. Definitely a WIP.

I like the shape - the swept forward pylons joining the front of the nacelles puts me in mind of Cochrane's Phoenix.

Alright, you've got an interesting shape going on here. I like the shapd of the nacelles especially, there's a lot of design space there.

But you might want to keep in mind that with 3D, you have the power to make it easier for yourself. For example, only make halves of symetrical objects, and when you're done just paste it. In this particular example, SketchUp also has the option to create a Component out of stuff you select. This means that 1) you can draw away without it affecting the rest of the model, and 2) anything you need more than one of is now easily editable; all the other instances of the component will follow suit. If you'd like, I can give you a small tutlrial using an approximation of this ship? I'll just film my progress as I go, at which point you can replicate it.

Thanks! The Phoenix was definitely an unintentional influence. Could be seen as a further development of that design.

I wanted to do something different with the nacelles, so I decided that a tapered polygonal shape would give them a more distinctive look. The overall lines of the ship I like. This is intended to be a hero ship, so a coolness factor has to be attained that I usually dont achieve. But this might get there. Having difficulty on where to go now, as most things I try adding seem to detract from it's lines, which is the best thing is has going for it.

That would be great! Thanks. I definitely spend way too long doing things the hard way.

Very early overviews of the interiors. The idea is that the drive, payload and crew modules are detachable. Usually its the payload module that is changed out. Passenger-Basic, Passenger-VIP/Luxury, cargo, scientific, etc. These components are borrowed from some of the very fine Owen Oulton works.

Hmmm. Yeah, I think this could work. The only problem would arise when this ship makes multi-day journeys, because the guests would need somewhere to sleep as well I think...

Definitely. The idea is that the payload module has several variants, like a runabout. So this would be the basic passenger short flight module. Flights of maybe 12 hours or less. I'll have the other ones done too. One with small cabins for longer flights, a luxury version for people with lots of latinum, pure cargo version, etc. The story is set with a space charter ship. Lots of different clients, not all of it completely legal.

Trying to fit a crew bathroom with shower into the crew module, but need to move things around to squeeze it in there.

I was rushed for time, but I managed to throw together a small tutorial.

I'm digging it! It's in the same theme as the "space truck" design that I submitted to ADB for Star Fleet Battles, only much bigger. Mine only has a 8x12 meter cargo bay (just big enough for three shuttles) and living space for a crew of four.

Thanks! Very much a space truck. At least, that's been something I have been looking at. I've gone over dozens of pics of 18 wheeler sleeper cab interiors to get an idea of how much living space and amenities you can compress into tiny, tight spaces. It's more than you might think. Im also working on a much smaller ship. It would be a version of the Cyrano Jones "Spacematic". I modified an Owen Oulton layout for one to be more like a Winnebago. Presumably there are space road trippers, who arent hauling cargo, they just like the open road.

Working on the deflector and the nacelles. Ive tried to add in details that would place in the era ahead of the NX-01, although I am not satisfied with how thats coming along. Black stripes following the tapered angles of the hull have been added, and impulse engines redone.
