It there any way to return Edith Keeler to Star Trek?

I like the idea of her life as instigating the Mirror Universe in some way. However, I wish they had a stronger female role, like Edith Keeler, on the Enterprise.

Given the 23rd century humanity had gotten past all the issues Edith was fighting for, would Edith fit in on the Enterprise in such an anachronistic way? Would there be better ways to show strong female roles in 23rd century context? (e.g. in TAS when Uhura takes command ("The Lorelei Signal" but in circumstances other than all the males being affected by yet another "Planet of the Amazonian Women" trope of the sort that Futurama had a field day with?)

They could have done an interesting episode where a character who had a role in changing society (albeit not a pivotal, irreplaceable one) gets to see the fruit of their efforts and must decide, do I stay where it's already realized, go back and continue to work for what I see here, encouraged by the fact that it worked, or, alternately, go help another (alien) society with their own problems.

Maybe someone who feels like there may be nothing more they can do for where they came from, but the real choice is living in a paradise or fixing another broken place where I can make a difference.

It doesn't have to be her, but this thread made me consider that.

I think she would function effectively as ambassador to civilizations that have not reach the federation's (or humanity's) level of enlightenment.

This strikes me as akin to trying to "fix" Romeo & Juliet by letting them live happily ever after, or having Oedipus discover that, wait a second, he didn't really sleep with his mom after all. Kinda defeats the point of the story.

I can't actually remember what inspired this thread, but I like the idea of Keeler in GEN. That was probably the only time it would have made sense. And it could have been Collins again so that Kirk could have the ideal Nexus age-appropriate version, still compatible with him despite how they both might have changed and evolved over time.

...And while I'm usually the one wanting the dead to stay dead and the timeline of first contacts with aliens to be honored....like, have some fun, people – yeah? This is a sci-fi bulletin board on the internet.
