Doesn't Disney own ABC and FOX (after the 20th Century Fox acquisition)?Disney would have to offload ABC. Cable, streaming, film, no problem. The more the merrier. But the Feds don't allow ownership of more than one broadcast network.

Amazon might - Jeff Bezos is a Trekkie, I could see him wanting to own the franchise.
Except Bezos being a fan of Trek doesn't mean he is going to spend a ton money buying Star Trek. Viacom/CBS is worth more as a whole, then any one franchise is, including Star Trek.
Bezos has more than enough money to buy the whole enchilada even if he's only interested in Trek. Same deal with Apple. As for Netflix, it's running up Tesla-grade debt. I would not want CBS/Viacom to go into the maw of a company that might burst like Enron from overspending.

Since the FCC allows one broadcast network per customer, how exactly would that work? Comcast only recently acquired NBC/Universal, so what would they divest in order to own CBS?Comcast/NBCUniversal would be a nice balance with Disney.

Out of curiosity, how does CBS get away with owning CBS and half of The CW?Since the FCC allows one broadcast network per customer, how exactly would that work? Comcast only recently acquired NBC/Universal, so what would they divest in order to own CBS?
And even a can of bean is too damn expensive now-a-days...It's all I can do to buy gas.
I like Netflix & Amazon for this but also HBO owning Trek would be really interesting. HBO has some great shows that stretch boundaries, it would be fascinating to see what they could do with Trek.

If a newly merged CBS/Viacom is sold to a third party, who should be Star Trek's new owners?
