Backdoor pilot?

Game of Thrones shoots for about six months.

Game of F-ing Thrones.

If these folks can't figure out how to shoot ten hours of TV in less than 8 months, CBS needs to get new people.

Game of Thrones shoots half the episodes.

Factiod: The first season of Space 1999 took 1 1/2 years to do its principal photography, which is why it also looked so good for the time.

I’m beginning to think that the Pike, Peck, Enterprise show is going to bump the Section 31 show. I bet they keep Georgiou on as part of it too.

I’ve seen others speculate that the S31 show was a cover or placeholder for the new Enterprise based show. Fingers crossed!
I don't know. I have a feeling that whole bit about Section 31 being restructured with Tyler the new director actually is meant to be set-up for the Section 31 show, and they will utilize this whole thing about the official records being changed so that Disco and crew don't officially exist in the show as well.

That is my theory is that Georgiou somehow makes it back to the 23rd century. Since she doesn't officially exist in the records anymore, Tyler utilizes her for Section 31, realizing the benefits of an agent who doesn't officially exist. This eventually leads to Section 31 itself getting removed from the official records and not officially existing, just like it was in DS9.

I have no doubts that CBS is listening to the audience. Look at all the back pedaling to fix Klingons looks, halographic viewscreen retcons, Spore drive and sister Michael erased from history.
They must be talking of making a Star Trek series for Enterprise: NCC-1701. What a way to heal the fan divide created by Discovery.

Not really sure that Game of thrones shooting half the episodes is a fair comparison. Game of Thrones has multiple worldwide locations, a far bigger cast and more VFX. The episodes are generally longer than an episode of Discovery ranging anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half. It's believed that the remaining episodes of season 8 will begin clocking in at 1hr 30 minutes.

Discovery takes longer but is nowhere near the same in terms of the sheer magnitude of the production.

Discovery didn't create any 'fan divide'. It was the fanboy Gatekeepers who hate change and treat a science fiction tv show like it's a religion that created the divide.
I apologize for implying that Discovery is not perfect and that only a huge part of the audience is in fact the problem.

Discovery is far from perfect and I never said it was.

And yes the audience is the problem when they can't accept that a show being made 2019 isn't going to adhere to storytelling and production values from 30 years ago, let alone 50.

Good shows with good stories in 2019 and on, I'll drink to that.

I'm still trying to figure out how you think that Michael has been wiped from the timeline?

She's apparently listed as missing deceased, with all hands of the Discovery presumed lost.
That in no way equals erased from the timeline.

Sarek, Amanda and Spock all still remember that she is out there ALIVE somewhere in the future.
So again, that in no way equates to being "erased from the timeline".

Wow, she who must not be named. Is that better?

memory alpha has the whole crew as pressumed dead

According to the finale we must never speak of her and or the discovery ship/ AI again under penalty of court martial per her brothers suggestion. Sounds fine by me.

where do you get that from? that's just the advice (he wasn't even asked for any advice) of a lousy lieutenant. those are usualy not the ones to call any shots - that it's spock in this case doesn't change a thing, does it?

Spock is very logical, I like his advice. He also said that Discoverys existence is the problem. Once again the logic is sound. His sister Michael also came to the same conclusion. By going into the future Discovery no longer exists for 950 years.

so what - he's low in the food chain, might as well get reprimanted for offering advice nobody asked for

seriously, if a lieutenant is capable of deciding that sort of stuff what are they paying admirals for?

... and whether you like his advice or not, you are no admiral either
