Should the Discovery crew still wear Starfleet uniforms next year?

To be fair, if my only alternative was that costume, I'd choose to cling to my Starfleet uniform too.

I guess I should say they are spoilers for the season final just in case.

Anyways if the show is set in the future and there is no starfleet or federation in the future does it make since for the crew to still wear uniforms? I could see them start wearing civilian clothes instead. Actually the show could have some "Voyager" type of issues in terms of how much they want to stick with federation rules and protocol at all.

I think Burnham could pull off a leather jacket and jeans but future jeans so they are black as well.

Everyone could dress in black. but why stop there, maybe they could paint the walls, floor and ceilings black too.

Because the shows look isn't dark enough as it is.

If Starfleet is still around perhaps they have finally embraced the logic of capes. Also one thing I know from Berman era trek is everything has blinkies on it. Finally we can see them wear uniforms that have blinky lights on them were buttons are suppose to be.

but .. they're still starfleet, still exploring even if they're not in their own time. I suspect they'll keep the Disco uniforms just for branding purposes though I do wish they'd move over to the DiscoTOS ones

TOS and most Berman Trek civvies looked horrible. What we've seen so far in Discovery looks fine.

Maybe in the future anyone can wear whichever Starfeet uniform they want. Burnham wears the First Contact/late DS9 uniform. Saru goes for TNG uniform. Reno wears the Enterprise era uniform Stamets and Culber wear the TOS movie era uniforms. Tilly wears the TOS mini-skirt uniform and Georgiou wears the black Section 31 uniform from DS9. All the other bridge crew wear the Discovery uniforms they have been wearing.
