Laptops, PADD devices, just wondering.

This seems excessive:

See that right there. One of those could do all of the things on his desk. and that one at the front with the large screen would be ideal for everything. Or don't they have much storage space, I thought in the TNG manual they said gigaquads of storage or something.

That amount seems a tad excessive, but it makes perfect sense to have a different file or program running on each device. It is just easier and more intuitive than having them in different tabs on one device. It is not unusual in our household to have one person using a computer (sometimes with several monitors), iPad and a cellphone basically at the same time. And in Trek those devices are effectively free, so you can have as many as you want.
