I'm wondering about this season finale a lot more than I did last year's or any from DS9. Actually, I'm pretty sure this is the most I've ever wondered about any upcoming Season Finale, Star Trek or not.

The only other thing that comes close, for me, was wondering about the end of Halt & Catch Fire Season 3. The 8th episode that season pretty much felt like a Season Finale and I wondered, "What can they possibly do for the last two episodes of the season?" Like here, everything was up in the air there from the characters to their situations to the setting. Except they weren't dealing with things on a cosmic scale, like Discovery, just the early PC industry and the proto-Web.

Back when DS9 was on the air, I was so young that it wasn't even until the sixth-season finale that I realized ahead of time that the week's ep would be the last of the season. I remember heading into that one excitedly. I felt the same way at the end of Babylon 5's fourth season. Ditto with BSG the whole way through. I felt a similar rush for Enterprise's third season.

Game of Thrones is the one that's had me at the edge of my seat awaiting the last couple of episodes of every season. But yeah, this is gonna be wild. Apart from Thrones, I haven't felt this much anticipation for a finisher in a decade.

Seeing Spock in uniform, a thought occurred to me. The Disco-TOS Uniforms look kind of like the TOS Dress Uniforms, minus the gold. Or my mind's playing tricks on me.

The texturing is a bit different but I can certainly see that. I personally really wish they would adjust the collars though.

Haven't read ANYTHING in this thread. I just subscribed to CBSAA and have started to binge DSC.

Wow, just wow. Such an improvement from last year. Season one was good, don't get me wrong. But I did get a bit tired of the whole Klingon thing. But the reveals this season have been great. Saru, Spock, Culber , Tilly and then Anson Mount as Pike are just killing it. I can't wait to go home and continue watching this. :)
"So you think the beard is working?" LOL
Mount was a little stiff at first but he has really "fleshed out" Captain Pike and made him one of my favorite captains.

Just watched this on YouTube. Sounds interesting enough. Even plausible. What do folks here think?

Might be what happens, might not. If the Borg in FC/ENT are what led to Control than it feeds into the idea that the timeline splintered off in First Contact. An idea that's been around since at least ENT. If that's the case, they'll have to recap all that info in an exposition frenzy. Could they? Sure. But I hope it's not the case.

I'm leaning towards no, but that's because I believe there's going to either a time jump, partial reset of the timeline (enough to butterfly his birth) or both.
"Time flows differently for those who protect the crystals. The past, the present, the future, are all equal in their presence."

If they want to bring him back I don't think a time jump is too much of a hurdle. For all we know they'll jump 500 years in the future and meet a younger Tenavik.
