First Official Pic of Ethan Peck in Full Spock Regalia

Looks like Peck's actual hair (mostly), so that's a plus. The Vulcan wigs are hideous.

meh.

I can see why they kept the beard. he looks nothing like Nimoy unlike Quinto who looked like nimoy. no offence Quinto looked way better

It‘s like the Peter Parker discussion all over again.

Toby is the better Peter Parker!
But Andrew Garfield was a way better Spuder-Man!
Tom Hol...
Shut up!

Peck brings a quality to Spock that‘s a welcome interpretation of the character, Quinto looked the part, but his voice seemed always to soft spoken.

I like the beard, but I‘m sure without and in uniform Peck will transform the character entirely to what we know from Nimoy.

yeah but that peck photo looks more like this beautiful shot:

I hate those early promo pics of Zach's Spock so much. The photoshopped face, the fake eyebrows and awful wig... yuk. In the first two movies, it was Zach's real hair and in all three his real eyebrows, plucked into shape. He looks so much better in the moves than these photos.

Sorry, still not seeing it. I understand that a lot of people were pretty happy with the casting of Quinto, but I was never really satisfied. Sure, there is some resemblance, but not more than now between Nimoy and Peck.

I'm sure that what we see on-screen will work much better than this rather stilted promotional still photo.

Peck has a great take on the character and mannerisms of a younger Spock and this is what drives the on-screen presence, not the aesthetics -- although I agree that the eyebrows are wrong and clearly lack the subtlety of those in the '60s Nimoy photograph. The hair is a tad severe too, especially compared to the longer look we've become used to in DSC. His expression also looks a bit forced.

I suspect that with a more delicate touch to the eyebrows, including a bit of up-sweep as per the '60s versions, and a hint of the eye shadowing that was part of the original Spock make-up then this would look absolutely fine.

So essentially change everything about the shot and it's all good?

Yeah, I'm not seeing it either with Quinto. Actually both, Quinto and Peck, don't look particularly similar to Nimoy. But at least Peck doesn't have that constant Blue Steel look going on on his face.

My poor roommate will never get the Beard Bros Spock/Tyler spinoff he craves.
For this reason alone, this decision is a turd on the franchise. Beard Bros Spock/Tyler forever! One is a Vulcan/human hybrid. The other is a human with a Klingon surgically grafted onto him or however the hell that went. Both have awesome beards, and together they are an unstoppable force, travelling the galaxy together, righting wrongs and learning valuable life lessons along the way.

Damn you, CBS All Access! You have robbed us of the best Star Trek series ever!
That travesty is not even the Discovery. They didn't even get the damn ship right. And are those NX nacelles? As if! 2/10, would not bang with someone else's photon torpedo.

I won't lie. That's a pretty nice looking boat. :bolian:

Just as Quinto looked better in the movies than in those stilted promotional photos with Pine.

What was done for that publicity shoot, in fact, was to put Quinto in the get-up and cover his natural heavy brows with makeup, paste on the Spock brows - apparently as a piece - and then 'Shop out his natural brows on the images. It's fairly obvious in some shots, but doesn't look good or natural in any of them.

I know its superficial but I think looks has a lot to do with it. Quinto is more handsome than Ethan Peck as a man and way hotter as Spock.
