Spoilers A big hint about the finale/season 3 has dropped...

Discovery is going to go on a Fantastic Voyage in Season 3! Bring it on!

This would be the song I'd use for next season's trailer, if it were up to me.

So Steven Boyd is the new captain? That's quite the time jump.

My out there prediction for Disco is that they'll abandon and hide away the Discovery (thus setting up "Castaway") and the crew will all transfer to the USS Enterprise for season 3.
At this point its anyone's guess, we have been led to believe that the solution will be to send the Discovery into the future (its better than hiding it) but that could just be one of those fishy red things.

Hard to call the show Discovery without the actual ship.

We know they wont actual succeed at blowing it up so they will have to think of something else, sending it into the future seems the safest option, perhaps sending the ship to the same time that the suit was sent to.

I haven't read through the entire thread so I apologize if this idea has been floated already. What if Pike's accident that leaves him disfigured and immobilized isn't an accident but rather an attempt to silence Pike for his participation in the events of this season. Perhaps he's the only person who can point a finger at a guilty party so an accident is staged that results in his injuries (someone within Section 31 would be a logical choice). It'd certainly be an interesting development that his fate is the result of a deliberate attempt to remove or silence him.

Eight years is a long time to wait to silence someone.

...Coming a decade after the events? With no comparable attempt made against Spock who was also there?

Edit: Ninja'ed. Although it might be an attempt at Spock was in the works; that Sarek was poisoned with Bendii for his role; and that Cornwell was lobotomized by Dr. Adams for hers. And perhaps somebody already did Burnham so that she need not complicate Spock's family issues in the TOS era any longer?

One hundred and ten years is one heck of a long game on getting back at Sarek. :p
