Tezwa/Min Zife scandal reading list

Oops, almost forgot that's where it noted he hoped to disappear into obscurity (I had forgotten that for a time he served under Bacco--I thought he 'disappeared' right before she took office).

What I'm curious about is whether Admiral Ross is still alive. If I remember correctly he had hoped to 'disappear' into obscurity and that Section 31 would leave him be if he just laid low (unless I forgot something I don't think it has been noted anywhere that he was in fact murdered by Section 31).

Did Section 31 leave him alone or did they ultimately take him out like they did with Zife, Azernal and Qualfina? It'll be interesting to see if Ross makes an appearance in the upcoming novels at all---or do we find out he's dead, either by natural causes or by assassination.

Personally I hope he's still alive. It'd be interesting to see if he reappears if for no other reason than to try to help Captain Picard in some way. Knowing the type of character he is I'd think he'd try to take responsibility and try to help Picard as much as possible.

To the best of my knowledge, Ross's most recent chronological appearance was in Articles of the Federation, set in 2380. I'm aware of nothing to indicate that he's died. However, there's only so much Ross could really do to help Picard -- he can't take responsibility for the decision to ouster Zife, because Heal made it clear this was a mutual decision that Picard reached along with Ross and the others. The most Ross could do is make it clear that none of the others knew about or condoned Section 31's decision to assassinate Zife and co. (To this day it is unclear if Ross knew Section 31 intended to assassinate Zife from the start or if his plan for a bloodless coup was basically hijacked by 31.)

How connected are the stories of Disavowed and Control? I was under the impression they were one two part story, so I'm surprised to see it's not on here.

There are serialized story elements between those two books, yes. It was in Disavowed that I first introduced the entity of Control, but I didn't explain what it was.

Disavowed would help readers understand how Bashir went from disgraced and drummed out of Starfleet after A Ceremony of Losses (and the rest of The Fall) and provide context for his and Sabrina's infiltration of Section 31. But nothing in that volume relates directly to the Tezwa crisis or the Min Zife scandal.

Thanks Defcon for the links about A time to and the series. I cant wait to read through the interviews after reading the series. I'm actually a huge fan of Trek, and huge fan of the formation and inner workings of how the books came to be and the work behind the process too.

Does anyone have any more articles or interviews or behind the scenes of the writing and formation or crating process of other Trek books? Please let me know.

Thank you to all the authors and forum members for the help and guidance on the series. Especially reading the books. It is my intention to get all the newer books and older books to get the fullest view possible of the stories.

Many thanks to all,
-Koric

Christopher L. Bennett has annotations and comments for all of his Trek work (and some other work, too) on his website.

There is a nice account of the entire Vanguard series on David Mack's site that you should read when you have finished that series.

They should be easily searchable, and if not, speak up, and I can help you find them.

I don't have a link handy, but the Literary Treks podcast on the Trekfm website has done a lot of interviews with the authors over the years.

You're welcome and I've done quite a few interviews wih authors for Unreality SF in the past (roughly between 2009 and 2014), most of them with Trek novelists. Maybe you'll find a couple of intersting ones for you if you start digging through the interview section there ( http://unreality-sf.net/interviews/ ) .
