Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

- V'ger *does* photograph amazingly well!! Or, perhaps I should say: You do photograph V'ger amazingly well! These are brilliant photos, @Michael. I love that you've used the V'ger cloud for the background - Did you put TMP on and take the photos in front of the TV?
I was humming and hahing about getting V'ger, and now your photos have convinced me.
Thanks for the nice words, @Cyfa! I just googled some screenshots of The Motion Picture and photographed the model in front of the laptop screen. It did work out pretty well, because the background is heavily blurred anyway.

they're hard to find now, but i think the lighted aoshima galaxy-class models were the most accurate i'd ever seen. they got the main impulse engine right, made the saucer impulse engines have both lighted and dark options, and the deflector is as good as i've ever seen:

 Whoa, that looks perfect! I wish they weren't this expensive, though. :(

You're the first person I've heard that actually likes it. I've heard horror stories and seen many horrible photos showing the absurdly stark wash paint job and the oddly misaligned alligator head relative to the main body. I've been looking forward to getting it ever since they started the line years ago and now I'm kind of dreading seeing it. :(
As I said earlier, I also love the classic Galactica model. It's just beautiful and I love what they did with the heavy wash. Also, fortunately no misalignment on my model. I can recommend this model without reservation to any fan out there. :)

Nerdgasm.

This is absolutely zero rational reasons for owning that, yet one day I shall.

On a completely unrelated note: I picked up "Captain Proton's Rocket Ship". And OH MY GOD do I friggin' LOVE it!

Like, I don't really see it as a "Star Trek" ship. But it looks so god damn much like the starships on the covers of the books I read as a child, I got all nostalgic. This ship brought me joy like previously only the TOS connie & refit in this collection. And these ships just have the perfect size, to put on the table somewhere, highly detailed, but not as big as to distract or being obnoxious. I just wanna' say how much I appreciate this collection in general - even if I own only a handfull of ships - it's ships I always loved and never, ever expected to get in my hands!

It bears a certain resemblance to Flesh Gordon’s rocket ship.

The whole head of my XL Defiant is loose, but not the deflector. But yes, I hear that’s a common affliction with that particular model.

Just got the US Subscriber email for the Klingon Sarcophagus ship. Last date to opt out says April 18th so I imagine it’ll ship around then. Price is $69.95.

yeah about that.

i got the email too and that $69.95 price can be beat. i don't know how long this will last, but if you decline the subscription version, just order it in the web shop and use promo code emcanada15. you get 15% off which makes the sarcophagus come to $63.71, including free shipping. it's not a huge discount, but it's a better deal than what you get for being a loyal subscriber and you get it faster.

the discount code works in the US, don't know how much longer it'll be available.

do you know if this is for the XL Starships Subscribers? Or the Disco subscribers?

Im subscribed to the Disco line, and wouldn't mind opting in for this one. The only thing is that I have not received any email from Eaglemoss about it, therefore I'm assuming this must be from the XL Starship line?
