In one of the pictures from Trekmovie article there is a Discovery character named "Kamran Gant" (played by Ali Momen). I have never noticed this character before but according to IMDB has appeared in several other episodes , and as far back as the first episode "The Vulcan Hello". If this is Starfleet's first Persian character then I like to see a bigger role for him, making him the next Captain would be great.

I know I'm in the massive minority here, but I don't get the whole Jet Reno obsession.

Seems like a random, stock wisecracking character that frankly we have no time for given the fact that the regular and established secondary characters have barely wedged themselves on the screen the last few episodes.

In one of the pictures from Trekmovie article there is a Discovery character named "Kamran Gant" (played by Ali Momen). I have never noticed this character before but according to IMDB has appeared in several other episodes , and as far back as the first episode "The Vulcan Hello". If this is Starfleet's first Persian character then I like to see a bigger role for him, making him the next Captain would be great.

Yeah, his Prime counter part was only in 'The Vulcan Hello', and his Mirror Counter part was on the Mirror Shenzhou.

He's wearing a S31 EV suit. Dunno if I'd want him to be captain.

I think she's fine as a guest character, but I'm not gaga over her like some seem to be (on Reddit etc). Her kind of dead pan humor is okay in small doses, but I think I'd get irritated pretty quickly if she had a bigger part than she currently does. I much prefer our main cast characters like Stamets, Saru and Tilly, for example, in terms of personality.

Whoever this is sitting down on the left, they're wearing a DSC uniform, but without the 'bling'. I don't think it's an Enterprise uniform, the colouring is too dark.

I dread to see the Klingons again, but the return of Reno is a welcome one. I'm not obsessed with her, but her character just does it for me somehow. I just find her funny and I want to learn more about her backstory. Plus, it's still just awesome to see a woman perform a traditionally male job on Star Trek. And I guess that's also one of the reasons for her popularity among the “woke” reddit crowds.

That's Stamets, you can see from the other angle photo (#1), and he's wearing the usual uniform, the light there just isn't catching the bling. He is, you might say, in the Valley of Shadows.

My guess: the U.S.S. Enterprise will appear at the end of the episode. I wonder if Discovery will be abandoned in this episode or the next one...

Nameless Shenzhou crewmember. He got his name from the novels that focus on the Shenzhou.
