Starship design history in light of Discovery

The torpedos are actually stored in the neck of the ship but then go through the turbolift funhouse to be ejected from openings all over the ship (like the pod launcher ports under the shuttlebay), including the nacelles.

Hell, they probably shoot torpedos out of the pod launchers too!

 

That would make it harder to "knock out their weapons".

 

I wonder if somebody actually thought that we wouldn't notice.

 

If I were them, I would have done it because we'd notice.

They don't seem to care who notices what in this show.

 

Star Trek hasn't cared before, why start now?

 

They can fire weapons from anywhere, except when they really need to fire something...

Part of me does wonder if they change things to get angry fanboy rage article clicks and bigger online impressions...

 

If so, they're great trolls. And still "meh" at Star Trek, but I'll give them credit for knowing how to stir the pot and make people talk about the show.

If they can channel some of that into better stories...

 

funny, we haven't seen a single federation starship design from season 1 show up in season 2 aside from the enterprise and (of course discovery) herself.

on the alien side, we've seen the vulcan cruiser and the bird-of-prey. but still kind of interesting all those assets from season 1 were created and are largely unseen going forward.

 

Because...Discovery something or other.

 

Perhaps They are saving the Great Starship Battle for the last few episodes?
We are going to see several S-31 ships and at least one Klingon D7 in the next episode.

 

There was the Hoover class U.S.S. De Milo in the Short Trek about Harry Mudd, but that’s the only one I can think of.

 

They're all being TOS'd with the Enterprise ready to roll out in late season 2/early season 3 looking how they should.

 

There were the very blurry Ptolemy class ships towing the Enterprise in Ep.1

 

Still looked like kitbashed Hoover class ships though.
