    Oh, that is small.

I think that's the smallest of the Discovery ships, so maybe they are somewhat making an attempt at scale. Too bad the price of that issue doesnt reflect that (but maybe that's somewhat recouped by the ISS Shenzhou?).

Actually, the ISS Shenzhou is going to be the 5th "Freebie" I'll have received.
So I guess They have to cut costs someplace.

That worker bee looks nice, but I didn't think it had been released yet. Did I miss something?

It was a give-away at the SD Comic Con, I believe.

I haven't received one as of yet either.

Thanks! In the meantime, I'm excited to see the Enterprise when it arrives in a few days.

it's part of the regular line, issue 13.

i received the worker bee early (a week after issue 12, the enterprise), because my account settings have me getting models every week if they're in stock. i have no idea how that happened, but it means i sometimes get two issues very close together and then there's a bit of a wait for the next one.

@pst, the worker bee looks awesome in your images! I wasn't originally thinking about getting it, but your enthusiasm is pretty infectious. I'm curious though: the cockpit inside does look a little plain. Or are there details you can only see in person?

Do we know if they ever talked about an XL version of the Discovery? The regular version was cool, but the long nacelles kinda restricted the size of the model and I wouldn't mind a larger version.

@Michael: the interior is fairly plain, but the windows are sort of a frosted, iridescent clear plastic that creates a nice reflectivity. the detail isn't as important as it would be if the plastic was transparent.

the magazine btw shows the shuttlecraft and klingon raider as upcoming issues, i expect they'll do something similar with those models.

if i'm not mistaken, ben robinson said when they announced the collection that discovery wouldn't be an XL because the regular subscription version is so long as it is. i kind of expect that'll change down the road, especially since the ship changed slightly between seasons 1 and 2, it may change even more and warrant another release.

here's the back page of the worker bee booklet for those who want to know what's coming down the pipeline:

I really hope the worker bee is a little more accessible than the Glenn was from last year. Can't find the damn thing anywhere.

The Glenn was intentionally made inaccessible as it was a convention exclusive

It was on eBay for a time, but they were asking ridiculous prices, $400.00+.

Really? I’ve got two and I was thinking of selling one. Could make a small fortune.
