(also - I'm seriously crossing my fingers for the Picard-show to be called Star Trek: Destiny. Just to see everybody's heads explode.)

It'll be "Picard: Destiny" so everyone will use ST: PD and old TNG fans will defend anything it does to the hilt claim it's 'policing proper continuity'.

The use of any particular acronym is not considered trolling on this board. If people using DSC are trolling, they'll get dealt with. If people are using STD and discussing politely, they're fine.

Nor does it need to derail every thread where it is used.

The director of the pilot of the Picard Series has stated emphatically just a day or two ago, that it will not be called "Picard" anything.

Though she also said that the actual title has not yet been decided upon.

Calling DISCO "STD", in my opinion, is a silly and juvenile thing to do and makes me roll my eyes at the "LOOKIMADEASEXJOKE" kind of humour, which I personally find tiresome. I don't criticise people using it (knock yourself out; it's none of my business and you're neither better nor worse than me for being amused), but the joke just isn't funny to me. Also, if someone posts something on a public forum, it's not fair or nice to (even if backhandedly) judge the character of those who respond negatively to that. That just doesn't help anyone's case.

EDIT: I'm just picturing the judge laughing until he has a fit and keels over.
