What an awesome show! Big thanks to all the people who make this show possible, from the actors to the writers, directors, special-effects, wardrobe, etc., ETC.! Truly a labor of love by everyone involved. It's been an incredible journey already, and we look forward to much more! We appreciate you deeply, and keep doing what you're doing!

Tonight's opening scene made my heart soar. I said to my screen, "Well, there they are. The full complement of USS Discovery." And when Burnham said "friends," and I said "family" (because that's what Trek is -- each crew/station becomes family) and then she said it...

    Then there was Saru.

It was just beautiful. And I thought, wow, I just adore this show.

Maybe I should change my name to Discovery is Great because Discovery is great.

The show is definitely hitting it's stride. The condensed seasons and less filler episodes help it tremendously over its predecessors and make it very binge worthy. Short Trek has great potential too.

They look like they are close to having the perfect formula to keep putting out a great product. Let's hope the quality doesn't become diluted because of the other planned Trek shows.

Really? I think more often than not it feels like a complete lovefest for the show in this forum. I do enjoy the show myself, but I'm also very critical of it and appreciate the handful of folks who voice their criticism amongst all the praise. Being critical of the show doesn't necessarily mean you feel all negative about it. I just want it to be better (i.e. more to my liking) is all. :)

Only if you pin a negative thread as well. This is a discussion forum, not a "fanboyz only" forum. ;)

I kind of agree that there is more love here than hate. However, I think there are some extreme examples of both. Some for who it do no wrong, and others, for who it can do no right. Both sometimes bother me.

I have problems with some elements myself. However, I'm more likely to "like" posts by the lovers than the haters, partly because vitriol of many of the negative posters grates so much more than that of the positive posters. I think that's partly down to my distaste for extreme negativity in general.

I have to agree. It is its own show yet it remains star trek, in my view. I really like the uniforms except for the nearly invisible rank insignia - seems to defeat the purpose. I do hope they change to the updated version of the TOS uniforms.
