We save $4 a month with the commercial version. Doesn't really bother me, I have grown up with commercial TV, so I gladly pocket that extra $4 a month.

Yep, agreed. Like Tyler's combadge, it would be consistent with DSC's portrayal of S31 having technology more advanced than the rest of the fleet.

The UI on the S31 ship we've seen through out the season has used these same computer screens, though we never got any close up shots like this.

The Shuttle Self Destruct screen also used a similar display.

Well the Red Angel is also giving them off, that's one of the reasons why they think it is from the future.
