he was right, it was always about spock as a half breed that riled up the vulcan extremists. Michael staying in sarek's house made no difference , yet she just made things worse for spock.

I would like to remind you that Michael was the target of the terrorist attack on the learning center, where she almost died. From this fact we can see who bothered logical extremists more.

HA! I'm continuing the stupid tradition of the term "Mary Sue" having absolutely no consistent meaning other than "female character I don't like doing things."
Nothing to do with her being female or black or anything. She just not my favorite character. Am I not allowed to dislike a character?

Stop projecting motives on to me when you don't have a clue what my "motives" are.
If this is humor it sucks. If it's trolling it sucks. Basically, it sucks and you should stop.
Let me guess your the humor police? /You get to judge whats funny for all humanity?

Forgive me o great one for daring to lapoon all trek's bad episodes.

In Calypso, the Discovery is seen in the far future with a human named Craft aboard. Craft's people are at was against the V'draysha, whom we all assumed was some future version of the Federation.

Is it possible that this is the AI-dominated future where Control has won (and literally IS the V'draysha) and Craft is a member of a small remaining human resistance?
Interesting idea. I like it. I don't recall, was Craft paranoid about Zora being an AI at first or was he accepting of it? I mean, they only had fifteen minutes to tell the story, but you'd think there'd be some hostility toward Zora if he had been fighting killer AI's all his life.

I was thinking Zora might have evolved from Airiam's memories mixed with the ship's existing computer, and this would be another cool way of integrating the Calypso story with the show.

Also, didn't Nhan only have one of those things ripped off? She might've been incapacitated but still getting enough of whatever she breathes for a little while.
Yeah, she still had the other one on, and at the end she was holding that side closer to her mouth and nose to breath in the gasses more easily.

Yeah, that's a good point. You'd think he'd be more than a little skiddish about an AI presence in that scenario. I've always just been a little curious about that Short Trek and how/if it ties in to the remainder of the narrative.

Should be interesting to see if anything plays out.

I saw this pointed out on Memory-Alpha regarding Airiam's bottle of sand, I didn't notice it myself.

The location of this elopement might be Hawaii, as she kept sand of the beach in a bottle labeled with the words aloha and Hawaii.

It's not really Humor, if it's only funny to you.
What you posted is called Derision.

Yes I forget we live in a post humor society.

How dare I insinuate that because we have consistency good episodes this series the next one will be super awful!
I mean the audacity of it!

It's a term for a female character. If it's a male character, it's a Gary Stu. That's why I mentioned the misuse of the term being "female character I don't like," nothing more.

And I didn't mentioned anything about you not liking her FOR being black or female, so the only one projecting those motives onto you is yourself, so settle down.

Nope, humor is subjective. What I do get to judge is you making borderline comments about sex changes and stereotypical black people on the planet of savages (yes, I realize you're remarking on Code of Honor) and wonder what in the ever-loving hell it has to do with this episode of Discovery and why did you bring it up other than to say something to be strange or controversial?

Best episode of the season. Can't believe I ended up caring for a character I hardly knew anything of or saw anything of.

Complete speculation on my part. If Discovery ends up abandoned in the future might season 3 be set on the Enterprise? Just because the show is called 'Discovery' doesn't mean the ship has to be...

I'm recovering from a nasty cold. I don't have the energy to get into anything right now. But... this is the second time I've heard "post humor society". Is this a new catch-phrase?

If you have to explain to someone that the joke is supposed to be funny, it fell flat.

Possible, if the title is about what they are doing, instead of where they live.

I have a feeling that it's another call-sign like SJW and will be overused in all the most inappropriate ways.

If you note the quote I was replying too. It was suggesting we have had a very good run of episodes, rare for ANY trek series that has had a number of clangers mixed in with good epidodes.

Hence my insinuation that the next episode will be a combination of all the bad episode of trek to make up for it!
:brickwall:

Jesus Christ people these days! It like you LOOK for reasons to find offense in jokes .

Burnham was anything but a Mary Sue in this episode. She didn't get through to Spock, and instead got a pretty tough assessment of her personality shortcomings. She didn't suspect Airiam was the traitor; that was Nhan. She had a good moment when she suggested using random evasion patterns, but the other insights on the bridge came from Tilly.

And she couldn't do what needed to be done and airlock Airiam. That was Nhan. Plus, in this episode Cornwell said Pike was the best of Starfleet, so it's really an odd one to see Mary Sue writing in.

Well, perhaps the way it was presented is the problem, instead of the "humor" itself?
