Airiam is nowhere near as sophisticated as an android and probably not even most Borg. She may come off to some fans as a 23rd century Data but at most she's a cybernetically-augmented human with artificially-enhanced abilities. That's a far cry from a Soong-type android of a century later.

Yeah, she literally has to stick her face into a slot to manually review and delete/archive her memories every week. That's definitely less advanced.

Considering she was injured in a shuttle accident, she's essentially a more advanced Robocop.

Maybe he did! But two weeks was apparently too long!
Lack of atmosphere probably didn't help. In the vacuum of space getting cold is the least of your worries.

Good episode, the cast did a great job. The use of Airiam was good. They made her interesting and sympathetic enough that the ending worked. The little cyborg pride bit was nice, especially since I now have metal in my arm I've been calling myself a cyborg. Spock's and Michael's sibling bickering is great, especially Spock insulting her decorating skills.

Goodbye Commander Daft Punk.

So is Michael still sharing quarters with Tilly? That doesn't seem right, considering they're both officers. Especially Michael who is Commander and 3rd in line for command.
With Ariam gone, Michael should move into there.

Lal - Developed naturally to the point where you cared about her, but she was only in that one episode so they did a great job making it so you did care at the end
She actually comes back in the novelverse and plays an important part in fighting Control.

well, there are two members, and i always liked Discovery best...

assuming there arent any other commanders aboard, such as the CMO or the chief of engineering

They're friends and it's not like Michael has a lot of stuff. Michael could probably get one if she requested, but doesn't.

it kind of hammers in to this idea spock was getting across to her that she's constantly punishing herself and taking all these burdens. Her side of the cabin surely can't look all that different from her prison quarters, and even prisoners accumulate items.
