You can certainly contact them, but they are not giving away anything. They are not selling anything from the old Lincoln Enterprises catalogue. I don't know how Cushman was able to get access to the archives, probably thank to his previous collaboration with Gene Roddenberry or for the endorsement of variuos Trek people, or the award won for his first books.

He paid for the access. Awards and a meeting with Roddenberry had nothing to do with it.

Well, of course money is always a strong motivator. However I don't think the sales of Cushman's books can justify large investments, so it must have been a relatively affordable price (also probably these 70s books are going to sell less than the previous ones).

Well, it's too bad @Harvey can't get access to those same papers because then he could do his usual rigorous cross-referencing and maybe solve some other mysteries not quite so cut and dried.

Sad such a poor "historian" is the one to corner this particular market.

Sad that no one better qualified ever tried to do it (as far as I know).

Sadly, it's more cost-effective to skip the detailed primary research and just "print the legend."

I made Amazon give me my money back on the shitty Kindle version. I read maybe 20%, but couldn’t get past the editing errors. I have learned to mentally edit the factual errors in Cash’s books, but when I can’t figure out what the fuck he’s trying to say, and entire paragraphs are unintelligible because of poor formatting, I’m out.

I know people are very opinionated on these books, but Cushman has rallied some notables to assist with the first audiobook...

    http://www.jacobsbrownmediagroup.com/audiobook---these-are-the-voyages.html

The principle reader is Vic Mignogna (Captain Kirk in the web series, "Star Trek Continues"). Other guest performers include Adam Nimoy, reading the quotes and letters of his father, Leonard; Chris Doohan (Scotty on "Star Trek Continues), reading the quotes from his father, James; Rod Roddenberry, son of Star Trek creator/producer Gene; and other Star Trek alumni, such as DC Fontana, reading her own memos from 1966-67. Part 1 comprises the first 18 chapters of the Season One book (ie. 13h 58m of a total 28 hours) via streaming audio.

I was always fascinated by Roddenberry's 70s projects aside from rebooting ST. I know Cushman is notoriously inaccurate but I think I'm going to have to pick this up.

Now we have to pay $30 to get half of a book? I’m sticking to reading.

Mr. Cushman would probably be the most qualified to write a detailed introspective about Star Trek porn parodies from the late '80s and early '90s.
