Captain Marvel (2019)

I can see the parallelism between the two characters :) Fortunately there isn't an equivalent to the Bruce Willis' character, who at the end of the movie made sex with someone who had the emotional maturity of a child and he was practically the only man she had known in her brief life...
Okay--I will watch this movie when it comes out on Netflix or another streaming service I pay for without passing judgment. As Brie Larson advocates, inclusion is better than exclusion.

Which movie..? because now we are talking about at least three of them...

It's Jude's natural eye colour, but isn't it suspicious how green they are?

CGI or body double?

What, you're not going to go into the theaters like how all the hipsterh8rs are ironically propping this flick up? :D

It's a bit more complicated than that. As there was no such outrage at the movie Wonderwoman nor is there against Alita Battle Angel released alongside it.
The manbabies got upset about Wonder Woman too. I remember they really raised a stink because the Alamo theater chain had a single women’s only screening.

I don't have a horse in this race anymore as I'm so sick to death of both sides of it.
There are not two sides, there’s a bunch of insane people and then there are people who just want to see a movie.

But let's have some context in these posts, they got offended at Brie Larson and the comments she made about how white male reviewers shouldn't have an opinion on a primarily Black movie
She said nothing wrong.

As for captain marvel itself, is it an awful movie full of "virtue signalling" or is it one of the most amazing marvel movies ever made and Brie deserves an Oscar?
Virtue signaling doesn’t exist. Men who are racist, sexist, and bigoted can’t understand that they aren’t the default and believe that anyone showing decency is just doing it for show to gain points.

As usual the truth lies somewhere in between. It's a decent origin story, no more no less.
There should be no issue, but MRAs and other kooks made it into one.

You funny man  When it comes to critters resenting humanity in secrecy then that is the domain of cat.

A cat hates no one in secret.

There's this assshole I live with who just hisses at me every morning on the way to the shower, which does nothing for my self esteem.
Yeah, there is no secret hating there, cats just hate us openly.
I've seen enough videos and heard enough stories to have come to the conclusion that, to put it bluntly, cats are assholes.

Not to be that guy but that literally describes two sides. As for their mental state, I cannot comment ;)

I would also argue that there are three sides, technically. Those who anti-this movie/MRA/whatever-the-term-is, those who feel the need to argue against them, and those who want to see a movie.

As someone who grew up with cats and has lived with them most of my life, I completely disagree that they openly hate us and that they're assholes.

I’m just saying that this isn’t a debate or position.

I was referring to giving Alita a chance. You know, maybe see the film before I pretend to have an opinion about it.

As someone who did the same..... yeah they are. My exgirlfriend just recently took our cat with her when she moved out (which we both agreed on, btw), I will say I really miss that cat sometimes. I also don't miss the constant miauwing, begging for attention and walking away when I wanted to give it, putting her claws in me when she was on my lap, leaving fur everywhere, throwing up for no appereant reason, finding it very funny to just show her asshole to me when I'm trying to friggin eat.....

I love cats. I really want another one at some point in my life. But they are, infact, total douchebags.

Goose is not a cat.

It's borderline racist how the humans just thought that the Talos was a dummy about that.

Xenosplaining?

This is the internet. Everything is a debate or position. :D
People try to make everything a debate in order to elevate absurd positions to equality with legitimate ones. Pretending there are in anyway equal positions or “just as bad” as each other is how the terrible side wins. There’s only what’s right and the abyss. Claiming Brie insulted men by wanting more diversity or that any movie is an attack of men is the abyss and belongs there. I refuse to take them seriously or accept them at face value. It’s a mockery to people who actually do get offended or aren’t represented well in media. The very notion that white men aren’t treated well in media is so absurd that these idiots should be embarrassed to dare bring it up.
