Forget Flashtime. If they ran like a regular human over to Grood they could've got the thing off his head before he got up.

I would agree that the actress and the character are different animals. No chance Nora is 34 years old. You never really know in the future if someone is a prodigy or they teach things at younger ages. But you are right that she is likely in her 20s. She just comes off very inexperienced, naive and immature.

Is it me, or has the Arrowverse been doing a lot of episodes lately that open with a big 'thing' happening, and suddenly we get the x-amount of time earlier thing??

Iris with the punching bag was a particularly laughable empowerment moment, when Team Flash has passed up every opportunity to just hit the guy when he's separated from his dagger.

Cicada does have superstrength, so it's not like he's powerless without the dagger.

The Flash team are useless. That’s why I’m on Cicada’s side now.

No, he's not powerless. But just super strength should not be much of a threat for Team Flash.

I've learned to live with the contrivances of villains getting away when the story isn't ready for them to be beaten. Like when a villain creates a danger that it takes the Flash five seconds to resolve, and then they've somehow managed to escape undetectably, even though they couldn't have gotten more than a few dozen paces away. It's annoying, but if I can suspend disbelief about all the nonsense physics and biology, then I can live with this as well.

    THIS!
People going 'but in real life they would knock him down straight away'. It's a show about humans with superpowers! There is nothing 'real life' about it. It's entertainment. Not reality. As a show it would kinda suck if they caught the friggin deathdealing asshole in episode three of a 23 episode season.:rolleyes:

Suspension of disbelief only goes so far. The writers have to act like they’re at least trying.
In which case the empowerment moment is all the more laughable.
Not an option for me, he’s too damn boring.

Sure -- there's a lot about the Arrowverse that I think is silly and conceptually sloppy. But it's just so much fun that I don't mind.

That’s my problem...this season’s been such a chore that it’s not nearly as fun. I’m seriously considering dropping this show and just coming back for next season’s crossover.

I approach the Arrowverse more as a whole. Even when an individual show falls short, what's fun about the franchise is how well it captures the feel of a comic-book universe, with multiple parallel series that share characters and continuity (but only when it's convenient) and do annual special-event crossovers and somehow manage to pull off a universe that's a messy amalgam of multiple genres from gritty crime drama to heroic adventure to mystical fantasy to absurd comedy.

Not much of an option for me as I’m already not watching any of the other shows. And I’ve grown so tired of this one’s season formula and episode formula that I can’t squint past them. (E.g., Here comes the huggy moment after Character learned his lesson for the week.)

I'm not sure I agree with the idea that Meta's need to be asked before a cure. For starters many of them had there powers inflicted on them through things like the Wells reactor or the enlightment. The other thing is I am not sure if they are mentally okay in the head and that those powers haven't somehow altered to them to a point where they are really aware of the influence these powers have had on their brain.. How many of these people have turned to crime yet were just regular people before being infected. I mean I would like to think if I got infected with a superpower my first instinct wouldn't be to go on a criminal spree.

Look at King Shark. The guy was at a point where they said he was thinking more and more like a shark and less like a human. How could someone in that situation fully be capable of making a informed choice like that. He was more animal than human so he was basically loosing his humanity.

It really comes down to the question addressed decades ago in "A Clockwork Orange". Does society have the right to stop a criminal by any means necessary? Or in more contemporary terms, what's the difference between attempting to alter the personality of a criminal or attempting to alter the personality of any one else who exhibits traits not considered normal by society?

The fight scènes are indeed not good just as in Supergirl, when characters are so fast or can look through walls.
But the fight scènes in Star Trek weren't also bad.
The only show what I can think of are good were fight scènes in agents of Shield

Which is exactly why it's imperative that they not have the choice taken away from them again. Heck, most of the things that we persecute or discriminate against people for are things that they were born with or had no choice about; but they're still part of those people's identity and how they live their lives, so it should be their choice whether to change them. There are many people in real life who take pride in their identity as people with disabilities, e.g. the deaf community, which has its own distinct language and culture and social network. Forcing a "cure" for deafness on them all without giving them a choice would be tantamount to cultural genocide.

Accusations of mental illness have long been used as an excuse for persecution and genocide. Women throughout history have been declared mad simply for asserting their independence and choice over their own bodies, or for disobeying their husbands. You're heading down a very, very dangerous and ugly road if you start to argue that anyone can be stripped of their human rights just because someone decides to label them insane.

I've wondered if there are metas under the radar, going on with their lives and nobody around them realizes it.

I would honestly like to see metas who are still children or geriatrics.

I understand getting the label of mental illness can be abused but mental illness is a real thing and I got to wonder of people who have these powers might have it. I would be relucant to just do what Barry did and just give them a shot without asking and without further study. Barry is lots of things but I doubt he is a expect on mental illness or even a pyscholgist.
A person infected should be listened to but I am not sure in all cases they are sound of mind to make a choice. I am guessing also their is a difference between people who are born that way as opposed to having it forced on them against their will like we saw with the reactor meltdown and enlightening. Of course it would always be easy if they knew how to give someone their powers back if they wanted to. We have seen people like Barry and Caitlin loose them and get them back. Or even better if you can suppress them as opposed to erasing them in order to really figure what effect they have a on a person's mind. If the person is sound of mind and they want them back it's then easy to just stop anything blocking them and let them return.
