Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

I was watching some current events today and happened to notice the Isreali flag on stage behind two relevant politicians.

Then I was picturing all of the TWOK rank pins that I've been able to collect over the years.

Then I realized that I'm pretty sure Robert Fletcher used the Star of David as inspiration for nearly all of those Officer rank insignia.

I can't believe I've never noticed that before!

In my country, they make more fuss when a famous singer or a TV host dies than when it's a scientist or a person of historical importance! I find that deplorable!

I spend my summer holidays in a little beach town called Bexhill-on-Sea (East Sussex, England). It's quite lovely, especially when there's fog rolling in from the sea. On very clear days, you can see the French coast from the beach. Your description reminded me a bit of that.
I 'm sitting in the doctors office reading this and when you wrote "French coast" my mind went to French toast. I need food.

Wouldn't it be possible that Nimoy had something to do with it. Nimoy wasn't in a position to do something about the insignias during the TOS days, but he certainly was by the time TWOK was being made...

Could be. I can't find anything about Mr. Fletcher's religion or roots, for the most part.

Apparently, the Vulcan garb on Vulcan was based on ancient Hebrew wear, too.

I realized that in May I'll have been a member of an electronic music forum I'm on for 10 years.

are you an active musician, scribble?

Totally random thought: over here, spring cleaning season is about to start. But what about the antipodes where the seasons are always the opposite? Do they simultaneousely hold a fall cleaning in Australia or do they have their own spring cleaning, half a year after ours?

^ Makes sense. Isn't spring cleaning mostly about the renewal that comes with springtime? "Fall cleaning" doesn't really have the same psychological motivations behind it.

A leaky plastic bottle of water in my basement and nearly a dozen of TP rolls are ruined! This is really bad for the planet!!

This is why you shouldn't put the water pack over the TP rolls!!!

Not active, but I do dabble from time to time.

I used to play bass during high school and a little beyond but developed an issue with my wrists (bit-time pain!) so gave up. Around 2009 or so I picked up a midi controller (keyboard) and some music software and have been messing around ever since.

I found an old banknote in the attic. It's too old now to be worth anything because even the banks won't take them. We switched to Euros 17 years ago!! That's a long time.
