I was this close to be entirely fine with the series ending here despite some loose threads. But then the bastards gave us their version of "Bad Timing" and I started sobbing like D'Argo.

Of course, Prime Mira would have a back-up plan for the flu virus and of course she would use Alpha Yanek as her carrier. I should've seen it coming long before Yanek started coughing. At least he had a brief happy ending with his Mira.

I knew Alpha Emily was going to die as soon as she walked towards the rigged building simply because of the quiet exchange between her and Alpha Howard. He didn't want her to go and she had to be her old self just one more time. But at least her death wasn't in vain and she managed to eke out the necessary intel out of Ethel before Ethel had a change of heart.

Or is Emily actually dead? I don't know. Something about Alpha Howard's exchange with Naya at the end seemed a bit off. I would've shrugged it off as Howard somehow getting back to Prime Emily but that's out of the question. Maybe I'm reading too much into it but there was something there that was off.

The final confrontation between Alpha and Prime Howard is a beautiful accumulation of two seasons, showing how each other became more like the other after meeting each other and switching worlds. But in the end, Alpha Howard chose to remain more like his original self than Prime Howard, even if Prime Howard maintained his necessary killing tactics, although with the restraint of own changed self.

I love how things ended up with Alpha Peter and Prime Clare, despite Prime Spencer's attempt to plant a seed in Peter's mind. The unspoken truth is there, they both know it, and they both know that they know it. But as Peter said, that's for another day. Instead, they decided to completely remove Spencer from their lives. But how on Earth are they going to explain changing the name of their daughter to Roland?

There is plenty of potential for the series if there are more seasons (and I sincerely hope another network picks it up), but aside from the "Bad Timing" ending, I'm almost okay with the show ending as it is.

The way I saw the Howard vs Howard ending was that Our Howard was fully prepared to shoot the bastard (can't blame him) but Alt Howard knew EXACTLY what to say to him to get him not to. "It's what I would do." DAMNITT. You could see Our Howard flinch at that. Well played, Alt-Howard...you dick. But it was good to see him accept reality and head back home with Baldwin. At least they understand each other.

OH MY GOD, that ending.... . That's just all kinds of heartbreaking, especially how it panned to the huge apartment blocks.
    :sigh:
I'm going to miss this show.

Yeah, I thought the same thing. As soon as Prime Howard said that line, I knew Alpha Howard would back down. That was a sucker punch.

At least the season ended as if it knew that it could be the series finale. Like I said before, there are some dangling threads and set-up for further storytelling, but other than the flu actually being released, it was rather conclusive. I'm still crossing my fingers that it'll be picked up by Netflix.

I half expected to see Alpha Howard go up to his apartment and then we'd see a still alive Emily. Something about his demeanor seemed a little off. i'm not sure what...just a feeling. I wonder what a third season of this show would be like. I hope to see it someday.

    WHAT?!?!?!

I’ve been avoiding this thread as I’ve been behind, but today I binged the last 4 episodes. I had no idea it was cancelled!!!

    :wah:

I absolutely love this show. This season was great. Seeing the origin story, Yanek killing his other...so many things going on. Clare turns, Echo, the truth about “Ian”... the look on Emily’s face when she realizes she’s been with Other Howard. Ethel stepping on the wire (did that look on purpose?).

I loved Bad Ass Howard just straight up killing those flu people.

I can’t believe they’re going to end it on that note. :(

What a great show. So brilliant.

    Now I’m upset! :scream:

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought that.

Definitely looked deliberate to me. She paused, looked down, looked back up, and then STEP.

Like I said before, I'm still crossing my fingers someone else will pick it up.

Otherwise, I'm going to be wailing like D'Argo all over again for sometime...

Fuck. Starz. I had been watching this series for the first time several months ago. I paused because it was becoming a series I couldn't watch casually so I wanted to finish season 1 when I had more time. It was a good old fashioned spy drama with a scifi bent, and I loved it. I went back to find it on Starz today to continue watching it and found they didn't just cancel it (which I was aware of) they completely removed it from their service. So Party Down, The White Queen, Ash and the Evil Dead are all still there, but not Counterpart. Fuck. Starz. Now I'm going to have to buy the thing.

Wow, they removed it entirely? That's a serious dick move. :(

The optimist in mean wants to believe maybe it's because the producers succeeded in moving the show to another network and the previous seasons went with them.

But I know that's a very long shot...

That is weird, I bowed out of the second season early on but had intended to get back to it sometime but maybe not. Maybe it's still showing on the "other side". I was just looking through and it looks like Blunt Talk with Patrick Stewart isn't available either.
