I believe someone from the production team said that.I always thought it was done to show an evolution between the blue flight suits in ENT and the TOS uniforms.

Yes, I can see big companies like CBS having rules against settling certain types of lawsuits, just don’t know if this type would be one of them, especially at this point in the case.I still don't see that CBS/Paramount have any incentive to settle, especially at this juncture. I'd say that one of the last things they want is to encourage people to launch frivolous claims of infringement after they've established the historical precedent that they'll toss you a bone to go away.

I have always believed it is most prudent to take control of litigation out of the hands of the courts whenever possible. There may never again be a point like this, where both parties have equal incentive to settle this case. Someone is about to get zonked (by the MSJ decision).
Even a weak case like this one is going to have some value for CBS (assuming the case goes forward), if for no other reason than attorney fees and other discovery costs. I don't think the case is ever going to be cheaper than it is now.
But the pending decision on the MSJ represents uncertainty. If that uncertainty can be laid to rest by a nominal payment, I would advise my principal to do that.
On the other hand, CBS may feel that the MSJ is a slam dunk and on that basis are willing to roll the dice. So this is going to be interesting.
And I wonder if the initial idea to have the all-blue unis was born out of Disco being a science ship, and they just decided to make them the SF standard out of production practicality reasons.
No. The DSC Uniforms were made as an evolution of the ENT Uniforms, and the Shenzhou looks nothing like the Normandy.Nah the uniforms like a lot of Discovery S1 aesthetics were clearly cribbed from Mass Effect. The influences of Mass Effect on S1 are clear as day especially in a lot of the design work and especially in the space shots, you can even clearly see the influence of the Normandy on the Shenzhou through it's development and eventual final design.
None of of it is copied from Mass Effect.Yes and this is not even that controversial a statement. Pretty much everyone with eyes even professional designers and reviewers (and half the users here) pointed out the strong influence Mass Effect had on Discovery when it first aired. There is just way too much of the aesthetic especially in early Disco S1 that is straight up pretty much cribbed 1:1 from Mass Effect for it to be coincidence and for good reason, Mass Effect is one of the hottest sci-fi products among millennial's probably number 2 behind Star Wars.
A video game that has polluted science fiction design inspiration way paste the expiration date. What's a "Mass Effect"?
Lol yes it is, I don't even know how people can say this, it's clear as day one of Discovery's biggest influences in terms of design was Mass Effect. People have pointed this out forever. It's not uncommon for different Sci-fi properties to heavily influence one another. Mass Effect in turn was heavily aesthetically influenced by BSG. It makes sense for Disco to be heavily cribbed from ME as well. If I was working on Discovery, Mass Effect would be the first thing I would go for if I wanted to pull in <30 age group.None of of it is copied from Mass Effect.
Andromeda sunk like the titanic because it was known to be an extremely broken product before it even launched. The franchise itself sold 14-15 million copies in a few years and ME3 alone pulled in a quarter of a billion dollars on it's launch. Despite Andromeda being an unplayable piece of garbage, it still pulled 150 million dollars and sold millions of copies. This is just the games as well, Mass Effect has successfully spun off into comics, books and merchandise as well. And if ME was such hot shit, Andromeda wouldn't have sunk like the Titanic.
Considering whats out there now and the fickleness of "younger generations" now-a-days, your last line isn't really saying all that much.Lol yes it is, I don't even know how people can say this, it's clear as day one of Discovery's biggest influences in terms of design was Mass Effect. Mass Effect sunk like the titanic (I don't particularly care, I only liked the 2nd game), but it was and is one of the biggest sci-fi brands among younger generations.
For the same reason I can say humans didn't evolve from orangutansLol yes it is, I don't even know how people can say this,
And it's a fallacy every time.People have pointed this out forever.
Welll...For the same reason I can say humans didn't evolve from orangutans
