I like them which is more than I can say for anything in the Mass Effect series. The Disco uniforms look more copied from Futurama than anything.
And I like them.

Honestly, If I were one of the folks who worked on MA, I'd be rather tickled-pink to think that a 50 year old IP was imitating a bit of my ideas.I like them which is more than I can say for anything in the Mass Effect series.

You're obviously not wearing your "I hate Discovery" glasses.so.. they are both blue with metallic piping. I'm not seeing a copy here.
That's also a good point. If those were red instead of blue, they'd look an awful lot like the monster maroons
OMG ...I dunno. If those were red instead of blue, they'd look an awful lot like the monster maroons.
And that emblem on his chest looks a lot like a tac delta.
I think the Epaulets & the Cummerbund may be one piece connected in the back? Thanks, @fireproof78. The DISCO uniform is not remotely a copy of that other thing.
But I'm getting a few Starfleet arrowhead/delta vibes coming from the insignia on that other thing, even though it's also not a copy. [ninja'd by CC]
That's also a good point.
Dunno, but that would make sense. You can see the cummerbund headed up that way under the arms.I think the Epaulets & the Cummerbund are one piece connected in the back?

I'm trying to figure out if the epaulets are somehow connected to that odd tactical-bib or apron or whatever the black wraparound thing is.
Well, it obvious to me that somebody from the C.S.A. time-jumped to the future and created that particular outfit.
Which demonstrates a fundamental flaw in the whole argument. There is definitely a generic aesthetic Hollywood has adapted for science fiction - from everything from space shows to video games to the command deck of the Avenger's carrier or even the CnC rooms at Langley and MI6. But Star Trek played a big part of establishing that aesthetic in the first place. As have Alien and SW and 2001 and 50s shorts and so on. But it's impossible to say where one idea came from. The only thing for sure is that it wasn't Mass Effect. It's way too new to have had any influence whatsoever.OMG ...
Are you implying that the Mass Effect developers actually COPIED STAR TREK!!!!
Oh the indignity of it all !!!!
<chuckle>
My bad ... Nope.Dunno, but that would make sense. You can see the cummerbund headed up that way under the arms.
Did you mean to quote @XCV330, though?
Yup exactly. The 'genericness' of both the set and the costume design has been my biggest complaint of the show. But so is anything having to do with Mass Effect. It is more they are both symptoms of the same problem than one having influence over the other. To my eyes, the designs are only similar in that they are all rather generic.
