Sorry, Scribble. I hope it's not an expensive replacement.

Thanks. It's not terribly expensive, just stupid and beyond what I was able to spend.

I was out with my mom and brother and his wife (they were in town and are driving home today) and my mom told me to bring up the replacement on Amazon, so I did, and she ordered it for me. Thankfully, the one on Amazon is less expensive than the one from the printer company and will be here Thursday rather than however many weeks it will take to ship from China.

Dumb, clumsy mistake, but it will be taken care of soon and I'll be able to create my first print on the machine.

What sucks is that the upgrade I paid for several months ago are now half the price they were then.

I know what you mean. Sometimes I have things to do and I can barely keep my eyes open!

I bought some raw unsalted almonds and holy crap does it make my throat itchy and mouth irritated. But roasted almonds or almonds in candy bars or any other kind of almonds, I can eat them just fine.

It wouldn't bother me, I like roasted almonds or roasted nuts in general much more than the raw kind.

    My favorite: Cashew nuts!

Bought some blocks of cheese when they were on sale. Thought I'd be using them up quickly but it looks like the expiration date (or is it the sell-by date?) is coming up soon. Any suggestions for using a lot of cheese?

It depends on the kind of cheese you have. Some cheeses are binding, so eating a lot of them in a short time might not be a good idea, especially if like me you are fond of a good transit... I live in a country that boasts 400 kinds of cheese and likely that number is underestimated! We also have dozens of recipes depending on the kind of cheese.

I like cheese but it does me no good. Melted cheese on tortilla chips with salsa is an old favourite, but the kids can’t eat it. Cheesy ham eggikins, basically eggs, cheese and strips of ham baked in a ramekin with a dash of Worcester sauce, served in bed with a coffee for extra brownie points. Cheese on toast, yom. Cheesy mash potatoes, mmmm.

Anyway. I’m thinking about hacking the beard off. It’s time.

Why do you serve that kind of thing in bed, IMO it's adding insult to injury? You should serve it to people between working out sessions!! ;)

It might be the tiny hairs on the almonds' skins. Try peeling them. You just throw them in boiling water, leave them to soak for a few minutes and then drain the water off. If you squeeze the round end of the almonds, the clean stone will now pop out at the pointed end. It'll be smooth and totally un-scratchy :) (Mind that almond peels leave brown stains on cloth. You better use an old towel or apron to protect your clothes.)

Must be going mad. Thought I’d heard the wife pull on to the drive. It’s a distinct sound of wheel on loose stone, and the engine is distinct too. And through the frosted glass in the door, I saw the white of the car, and yet, when I went to the kitchen to put the kettle on, the drive was empty.

Maybe a sign of early onset gone doolally.

Perhaps it was another white car that pulled onto your drive way, pulled out and went in the opposite direction while you were putting on the kettle??

Mine’s a corner property, so anyone turning round would just use the junction. I probably imagined it.

I'm thinking of ditching my employer insurance for one of my state's subsidized insurance plans. It has a higher monthly premium but there is no deductible and the max out of pocket is $4500 less than my current insurance plan.

I would like to do some stuff before going to sleep but the cat is lying on my lap and I don’t to wake him up.
