It's really good to see all of that in a less chaotic format than facebook comments :D Great job :techman:

Also, I'm glad that we got definite months for about half of these. That's a lot more than I'd have thought when DSC aired.

Just a quick note: There was some discussion that Runaway might take place during the Season 1 finale (after Tilly's promotion but before the cliffhanger), and not after. We won't know until we have more to judge by, but placement within Season 1 (at least a small sliver) does seem plausible.

So, let's keep track of Tilly's hair style next season!

    Hello @ryan123450,

I’ve had a look at your Discovery timeline, and was very relieved to find it’s similar to mine, especially since you’ve been a lot more rigorous in following the dating clues. Don’t forget that everyone “lost” nine months, so what feels to Michael Burnham like “a year ago” could be as late as January or even maybe February 2258, and still technically OK in her personal timeline. I do agree that keeping the end of the season sometime in 2257 makes more sense and fits better with the other evidence.

Although it’s jumping threads a bit, I do like @Centaur2000 ’s formatted timeline. It’s very clear.

Up to now, I’d assumed that the index I compiled to help me find individual stories in the Voyages of Imagination timeline wouldn’t be of much use to more sensible timeliners, who’d of course have a searchable electronic copy to hand. Perhaps there might be more interest than I thought there’d be, and I should post the index somewhere people can get it at the weekend?

    Best wishes,

    Timon

I don’t have a copy of this, but I’m wondering if anyone can tell me what happens in the epilogue of Allegiance in Exile? I half remember reading if years ago that it was related to the end of the 5ym?

That is next on my list to "timeline". I know a couple of others have read it as well.

Basically, the epilogue is maybe two pages that take place as the Enterprise is literally hours from Earth Spacedock right after the completion of the final assignment of the 5YM (which isn’t specified by the novel itself — leaving it up to the reader whichever version they prefer from the various ones produced over the decades).

Kirk reminisces about the end of the voyage, and about how he plans to secure another starship command (and avoid promotion to the Admiralty, IIRC), as well as on how much Sulu had matured during the year-spanning events of the novel.

Then again, now that I think about it, it looks like the ending is completely incompatible with IDW’s Mission’s End miniseries, or rather, the last 10 or so pages of the final issue, where Kirk decides to accept promotion before the starship ever departs for Earth (unlike pretty much all of the other “end-of-the-5YM” tales out there).

Been awhile since we had a timelining discussion here, but a private conversation between @Jinn and I got me to pondering The Weight of Worlds. Maybe @Greg Cox can chime in?

While thinking about the placement of this story, and seeing that Uhura is planning a holiday party commemorating Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, Ramadan, and Dawali, I’m wondering when exactly it should take place. As far as I can tell Ramadan runs from Aug 30- Sept 26 in 2269 (which I guess is the year I’m leaning toward?, though it could be 2270) and Dawali is on Oct 25. Wonder when during the year it would make sense to celebrate this combined holiday party?
